Space Marine 2 has bolt, plasma, melta, pyre and Neo-Volkite firearms, plus a varied melee arsenal. The roster below gathers weapons named in official updates through Patch 15, released on 1 October 2026. It is a sourced working list, not a guaranteed complete current inventory: the official notes cited here do not provide one consolidated catalog or a full class-by-class availability chart.
What weapons are in Space Marine 2?
The names below are grouped by weapon family. An entry may be a base archetype, a distinct weapon version, or a named Heroic variant; those categories are not interchangeable. Cosmetic skins are not additional weapon archetypes.
| Family | Weapons named in official updates |
|---|---|
| Bolt firearms | Bolt Rifle, Auto Bolt Rifle, Heavy Bolt Rifle, Bolt Carbine, Instigator Bolt Carbine, Occulus Bolt Carbine, Heavy Bolter, Bolt Pistol, Heavy Bolt Pistol, Bolt Sniper Rifle, Stalker Bolt Rifle, and Bolt Carbine One-Handed. |
| Plasma | Plasma Pistol and Plasma Incinerator. |
| Melta | Melta Rifle, Heavy Melta Rifle, and Multi-Melta. |
| Pyre | Pyreblaster and Pyrecannon. |
| Neo-Volkite | Neo-Volkite Pistol. |
| Melee | Chainsword, Combat Knife, Power Sword, Power Axe, Power Fist, Thunder Hammer, and Omnissian Axe. |
This list reflects the weapons named in the official patch materials covered here; it should not be read as a definitive total or as proof that every item is currently available to every class.
What is the newest weapon in Space Marine 2?
The latest weapon addition identified in the official updates covered here is the One-Handed Thunder Hammer, added in Patch 15 with Anniversary Update II on 1 October 2026. Focus Entertainment describes it as a fast weapon that can shift between single-target and area attacks by building and spending charges.

Patch 15 also introduced the Two-Handed Thunder Hammer for Techmarine. These are distinct weapon options; the update additionally expanded Tactical’s melee choices, as detailed below.
Which weapons can Tactical use?
Patch 15 added the Power Sword, Power Axe, and One-Handed Thunder Hammer as PvE melee choices for Tactical. Choosing one replaces Tactical’s Primary weapon, so this is a loadout trade-off rather than an extra weapon slot.

The patch notes establish those additions, but the materials covered here do not establish a complete, current list of Tactical’s weapons or all class restrictions. Check the in-game class and loadout menus for current eligibility.
What changed in the recent weapon updates?
| Update | Weapon-related changes |
|---|---|
| Patch 4.5 — 12 November 2024 | Introduced the Neo-Volkite Pistol. The update described its focused thermal damage building until a localized explosion occurs, and listed Assault, Vanguard, and Bulwark as its classes at that time. |
| Patch 13 — 21 May 2026 | Introduced Bolt Carbine One-Handed as a secondary weapon for Assault and Bulwark; also adjusted firearms and melee weapons. |
| Patch 14 — 28 July 2026 | Added six unlockable Heroic weapon variants; these are detailed in the next section. |
| Patch 15 / Anniversary Update II — 1 October 2026 | Added the One-Handed Thunder Hammer, expanded Tactical’s melee options, added a Two-Handed Thunder Hammer for Techmarine, and changed PvE firearm balance. |
What are the Heroic weapon variants?
Patch 14 says players can unlock six Heroic weapon variants with Accolades. They are variants of existing weapon types, not six new base weapon families.

Patch 15 also names three Heroic unlocks: Power Axe (Frost Axe – Balance), One-Handed Thunder Hammer (Power Maul – Balance), and Auto Bolt Rifle (Iron Hands). These names identify unlocks or variants, not additional weapon families.
Do weapon balance numbers apply to every mode?
No. Weapon tuning can be specific to a mode and a patch, so a balance figure should not be treated as a timeless stat or assumed to apply to PvP. For example, Patch 15’s PvE notes say the Melta Rifle’s base damage increased by 65%, while its base ammo capacity fell from 15 to 10. Both changes belong together: the damage increase came with less base ammunition.
Rank #4
- Destroy the tyranid swarms. Defend humanity.
- Eliminate merciless tyranid swarms as legendary Space Marine Titus in a spectacular new campaign
- Experience thrilling, bloody and fast-paced third-person action with hundreds of opponents on screen
- Defend the Empire as a Space Marine in brutal and always replayable PvE missions for up to 3 players
Patch 15 also records PvE base-damage increases for Bolt Rifle, Auto Bolt Rifle, Heavy Bolt Rifle, Bolt Carbine, Instigator Bolt Carbine, Occulus Bolt Carbine, Plasma Incinerator, Heavy Bolter, Pyreblaster, Pyrecannon, and Bolt Carbine One-Handed. Its melta changes also cover Heavy Melta Rifle and the Combi-melta Heroic Bolt Rifle. Those patch-specific notes are not a comparable full-stat table for the entire arsenal, so they do not support ranking every weapon against every other one.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How should you compare weapons?
Start with the distinctions the updates make explicit, rather than trying to infer a universal best weapon from scattered patch notes:
Best Value
- High quality
- Ideal as a gift
- Ideal support for play and imagination
- Family and attack type: A bolt firearm, a thermal weapon, and a melee weapon serve different roles.
- Single-target or area attacks: The One-Handed Thunder Hammer is specifically described as shifting between those attack patterns through its charge mechanic.
- Ammunition or heat: Check resource handling alongside damage; the Patch 15 Melta Rifle example pairs a damage increase with reduced base capacity.
- Class, loadout, and mode: Availability can be class-specific, and Tactical’s new melee choices replace its Primary weapon in PvE.
- Item type: Confirm whether a name refers to a base archetype, a separate weapon option, a Heroic variant, or a cosmetic skin.
Because the official notes covered here do not provide one complete current weapon catalog, class matrix, or uniform set of comparable stats, use the in-game loadout screen to confirm present availability and inspect the relevant mode’s current weapon information.
