For a versatile FJX Horus multiplayer starting point in Modern Warfare 3, try the JAK Scimitar Kit, Quartermaster Suppressor, Accu-Shot 5MW Laser, Ripper Light Stock, and Paracord Grip. For small maps, swap to the VLK LZR 7MW Laser and No Stock Mod. These are historical builds last updated in August 2024, not confirmed best-in-slot setups for the live game in October 2026; check each attachment’s availability and Gunsmith effects before using them.

CODMunity labels this its “versatile” FJX Horus setup and emphasizes accuracy. It is a third-party recommendation, not a verified test result.

The listing was last updated in August 2024. Treat it as a starting point: in Gunsmith, read the current attachment descriptions and consider whether the resulting handling suits your aim and preferred engagement distance. This recommendation also carries an August 2024 last-updated label. Its close-range emphasis makes it a useful comparison against the versatile setup, but the available evidence does not establish how either performs in the current live game.
What the JAK Scimitar Kit changes
Activision introduced the FJX Horus in MWIII Season 3 as “An ultra-compact SMG with best-in-class CQC damage and mobility.” In the Season 4 2024 patch notes, Activision said the JAK Scimitar Kit improves range and recoil and unlocks a high-capacity drum magazine. The same notes increased the kit’s damage-range benefit from 35% to 65%. Those are historical patch-note values, not confirmation of the kit’s current bonus: Season 4 2024 patch notes.

Why historical range figures need context
In those Season 4 2024 notes, Activision reduced the FJX Horus’s listed damage ranges as follows. These figures describe that balance change; they should not be read as verified October 2026 stats.

Because those changes reduced the listed ranges, it is sensible to compare the kit’s range-oriented role with the weapon’s current Gunsmith details rather than assuming the 2024 numbers still apply unchanged.

Alternative: a Tac Stance direction
Game8 points to the Ripper Light Stock and Kimura Ryn-03 Vertical Grip for a Tac Stance-oriented setup. The surfaced recommendation does not provide a complete current build or establish that this approach outperforms the two configurations above. Start with the map and the distances at which you expect to fight. The small-map list points toward mobility and quick handling; the versatile list is presented by its publisher as an accuracy-focused option. Those are practical comparison axes, not independently tested performance claims. Change one attachment at a time in Gunsmith, inspect its listed effects, and keep the version that better supports your control and movement.

No current 2026 best-in-slot configuration is established, so confirm attachment availability and effects in your game before settling on a class.
