Best XM4 loadout for Black Ops 6 Multiplayer
GamesRadar+’s five-attachment recommendation is a balanced starting point for Multiplayer. Its stated purposes for each part are:
- Compensator: controls vertical recoil.
- Long Barrel: increases damage range.
- Vertical Foregrip: controls horizontal recoil.
- Quickdraw Grip: improves aim-down-sights speed.
- Light Stock: improves mobility.

When to use Gunfighter for an expanded Multiplayer build
If you want more than five attachments, Gunfighter is the Wildcard to consider. Activision’s launch-era Gunsmith guide says assault rifles have five attachment points by default and Gunfighter raises the primary weapon’s allowance to eight. Its guidance places the unlock at Player Level 33; check the current in-game menu in case a later update changed unlock or slot rules. Activision’s Gunsmith guide explains the system, and Blizzard’s Black Ops 6 weapon details also describe Gunfighter as adding three primary-weapon attachment points.

ONE Esports published a dated alternative on January 17, 2025, built around Gunfighter:

How to choose or adjust the build
Use the build that matches your mode and the way you take fights. In Gunsmith, inspect the numerical attachment details rather than assuming a benefit has no cost: Activision groups attachment effects under Firepower, Accuracy, Mobility, and Handling. These cover factors such as damage, range, fire rate, recoil, bullet velocity, movement, ADS, reload, sprint-to-fire, and weapon-swap speed. Activision notes that attachments generally offer advantages with limited disadvantages, but every choice changes the balance. The official Gunsmith guide explains these categories.
- Choose your mode and range. Start with the Multiplayer recommendation for that mode, or the distinct long-range configuration for Warzone.
- Check the trade-offs in Gunsmith. Compare the attachment pros and cons against the way you want the rifle to handle.
- Test the result in the Firing Range. Pay attention to recoil control, ADS feel, and whether the setup suits your preferred engagement distance.
- Decide whether extra slots are worth the Wildcard. Gunfighter adds three primary-weapon attachment points under Activision’s launch-era rules, but uses the Wildcard slot you could otherwise spend elsewhere.
XM4 stats and balance context
CODMunity’s weapon-stat snapshot, labeled “Last Updated: 25/09/2026,” lists the XM4 at 800 rounds per minute, a 30-round base magazine, 270 ms ADS speed, and 820 m/s bullet velocity. These are figures from CODMunity’s third-party snapshot, not official Activision measurements. Consult the CODMunity XM4 page for that dated stat listing.

Activision’s Season 04 Reloaded patch notes, published in 2025, describe attachment-balancing goals and say the aim is for every attachment to have a place across different builds and playstyles. That statement does not establish the complete October 2026 balance state or prove which setup is strongest now. GamesRadar+’s suggested supporting class is a publisher recommendation, not a universal best setup:

GamesRadar+ also suggests considering an optic, Fast Mag I, or Strelok Laser when changing the XM4 build. Those are alternatives to weigh against the five-attachment recommendation, not additions to it.
