- Check the mod page first. Confirm the supported game version, storefront, dependencies, latest file date, installation steps, and recent comments or bug reports.
- Identify its installation method. Some guides describe placing .pak files in
b1ContentPaks~mods; other mods may need a loader, launch option, executable-folder change, or additional software. Treat these as mod-specific instructions, not universal steps. - Back up before changing files. Keep an unmodified copy of any files you replace and back up saves where the mod author recommends it. Make sure you know how to remove the mod and restore the original setup.
