For a weapon’s core Black Ops 7 Multiplayer camo path, complete nine sequential Military challenges, then three weapon-specific Special challenges, then that weapon’s Mastery challenges. The Military requirements depend on weapon class: most guns need headshots, while shotguns, sniper rifles, launchers, and melee weapons use different objectives. To see what your weapon currently needs, open Career > Challenges > Camo Challenge Hub in game.
How the BO7 Multiplayer camo path works
Each weapon’s core Multiplayer track has 16 camos: nine Military, three Special, and four Mastery. Activision’s launch overview described 30 launch weapons; that is a launch-roster figure, not a current weapon total. It also described 16 Weapon Camos per weapon across a mode’s complete set—not 16 Multiplayer Mastery camos. Across the four modes, the overview counted 16 Mastery Camos in total.

- Earn the weapon’s nine Military camos in order.
- Unlock and complete that weapon’s three Special challenges. You can do these in any order.
- Complete the weapon’s Mastery requirements, then meet the roster or category requirements for later Mastery tiers.
The camo names and detailed challenge list below follow Dot Esports’ guide, last updated July 23, 2026. Newer weapons or changes may not be reflected there, so use the in-game hub to confirm the live objective and your progress.
All nine Military camos and their requirements
Military camos unlock sequentially on each weapon. The named sequence is the same across the listed classes, but the objective changes by class. For assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, marksman rifles, and pistols, the milestones are headshots: 5 for the first camo, then 10 more at each subsequent milestone. Activision’s launch overview gives the same headshot progression.

The class thresholds in this table come from Dot Esports’ July 23, 2026 list; Activision’s overview confirms the class-based criteria and the headshot milestones but does not show every threshold in its visible summary. If the objective displayed for a particular weapon differs, follow the in-game hub.
Special camos: three different challenges per weapon
After you earn all nine Military camos on a weapon, its Special challenges unlock. The three camo names listed are Diamondback, Raptor, and Mainframe. Each weapon has its own objectives, and you can complete them in any order. These camos are specific to that weapon, but the unlocked camo can be used on that weapon in any mode.

There is no single Special challenge checklist that applies to every gun. Objectives can involve movement, hipfire, objective kills, tactical effects, long shots, avoiding damage, equipment or Scorestreak destruction, or using a particular attachment setup. For example, the July 2026 list gives these assault-rifle requirements:
- M15 Mod 0: 50 kills while moving, 30 objective kills, and 20 kills with an Underbarrel Launcher.
- AK-27: 30 hipfire kills, ten instances of two kills without reloading, and 20 Underbarrel Launcher kills.
- MXR-17: 50 eliminations with five or more attachments, 30 kills while or shortly after sprinting, and 20 Underbarrel Launcher kills.
Check the selected weapon’s challenge before building your class. If an objective names an attachment or setup, equip it on that weapon before the match. Objective-based modes can be a practical fit for objectives that specifically require objective kills, but that is tactical advice, not a verified fastest method.

Multiplayer Mastery camos and requirements
All nine Military and all three Special camos on a weapon are prerequisites for its Mastery phase. The Multiplayer Mastery camo names are Shattered Gold, Arclight, Tempest, and Singularity. The detailed objectives below are from Dot Esports’ July 23, 2026 guide; confirm the exact live threshold in the Camo Challenge Hub.
| Mastery tier | Requirement to unlock the challenge | Challenge for that camo |
|---|---|---|
| Shattered Gold | Unlock all three Special camos on that weapon. | Get three kills without dying, 10 times. |
| Arclight | Earn Shattered Gold on the base number of weapons in the same category; the guide gives six assault rifles as an example. | Get 10 double kills or better. |
| Tempest | Earn Arclight on 30 weapons, according to the listed ladder. | Get five kills without dying three times. For launchers, the guide lists five kills in one match instead. |
| Singularity | Earn Tempest on 30 weapons, according to the listed ladder. | No separate challenge is listed; it unlocks after the stated prerequisite. |
The guide also describes Arclight on all 30 weapons as part of the overall Singularity grind, which does not align neatly with its category-based Arclight example and its later 30-weapon Tempest and Singularity thresholds. Treat those published thresholds as a guide to the ladder, not a substitute for the current in-game tracker; the hub is the place to check which weapons count toward your next tier.

Universal and seasonal camos are separate routes
The weapon-by-weapon Multiplayer path is not the only way to earn camos. Activision’s Multiplayer overview names Weekly Challenges, Weapon Prestige, and seasonal events as additional routes to Universal Camos. Weekly-reward conditions and limited-time rewards vary by season, so a past season’s checklist is not a live checklist.
- Weekly Challenges: The launch overview says that, beginning in Season 1, each season awards two Universal Camos: one for earning half of that season’s weekly rewards and one for earning all of them.
- Season 05 example (July 13, 2026): Activision’s Season 05 page listed the animated “Murder” camo for earning any four Weekly Rewards and animated “Nectar” for earning all Weekly Rewards across that season. The page also described more than 40 camos available throughout Season 05; that was a seasonal count, not a permanent total.
- Season 04 example (June 2, 2026): Activision’s Season 04 page described the cross-mode Illicit Cargo camo event, “Good Eats” for any four Weekly Rewards, “Leviathan” for all weekly rewards, and six Multiplayer Ranked Play camos. These are dated examples, not confirmation that those rewards are still available.
Check the current Weekly, event, and Ranked menus for available Universal, event, and Ranked Play rewards. Each route has its own eligibility and availability; do not assume a seasonal reward remains earnable after its season.

Where to check progress and what to do next
- Open Career > Challenges > Camo Challenge Hub.
- Select the weapon. Review its displayed Military, Special, or Mastery objective and the near-completion tracking.
- Finish the nine Military challenges in sequence using the objective for that weapon’s class.
- Complete the three Special challenges in whichever order fits your setup. Equip any required attachment or other named setup before queuing.
- Work on that weapon’s Mastery challenge, then use the hub to track category and roster requirements for later tiers.
- For camos outside the core weapon track, check the current Weekly, event, and Ranked menus separately.
Activision says the Camo Challenge Hub tracks weapon camo progress and surfaces near-complete challenges. That makes it the best check against an older named list, particularly for weapons or seasonal content added after July 23, 2026.
