What happened before ASTRO BOT launched?
Sony announced ASTRO BOT for PS5 with an official release date of September 6, 2024. Its June 6 preorder announcement included a Physical Standard Edition as well as a digital deluxe option.

On September 3, Push Square reported that physical copies were already out in the wild. That timing put the report three days before the scheduled launch.
What spoilers were circulating?
Push Square said people with early copies were streaming gameplay on Twitch and Kick, while clips and videos were spreading on social media and YouTube. The report said Sony was trying to shut down leaks, but did not quantify how widely the material spread or document whether or when it was removed.

If you wanted to avoid spoilers, the practical risk was online gameplay footage and clips in the days immediately before launch. The available reporting does not establish how many copies appeared early, how people obtained them, or which retailer—if any—was responsible.
