Use the same eight-digit code as another player in Pokémon Legends: Z-A to match for a trade evolution. The codes below are community conventions, not official Nintendo codes. Check the Pokémon and any required held item on the trade screen before accepting: a public code trade usually gives you the other player’s evolved Pokémon, not your original Pokémon back.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A trade codes
The first 10 codes are for base-game trade evolutions. The final three are additional evolutions listed for the Mega Dimension expansion. The codes are community-published matching codes attributed to AustinJohnPlays by Insider Gaming; entering one does not guarantee a match or verify what the other player offers.

How to use a trade code
- Unlock Link Play. It becomes available after you unlock the Rewards feature in Mable’s Research. Nintendo Support estimates this may take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours of play; it is not a guaranteed playtime for every player. Nintendo’s Link Trade instructions describe the feature and its use.
- Open the trade menu. From the X menu, select Link Play → Link Trade → Faraway Players to match online.
- Enter the same code. Type the eight-digit code shown in the table. Nintendo says the system searches for another player who entered that same code, then opens the trade menu when it finds a partner.
- Offer the listed Pokémon. For an item-based evolution, have the Pokémon hold the item before trading.
- Inspect the offer before confirming. Verify the other player’s Pokémon and, where relevant, its held item. The evolution occurs after the exchange when the requirements are met.
What to know before accepting
- A matching code is not an identity check. It helps find another player using the same code; it does not guarantee that player offers the expected Pokémon.
- Most public code trades are mirror trades. Both players generally offer the same pre-evolution and receive the other player’s evolved Pokémon. You should not expect your own Pokémon to come back. If you need that exact Pokémon returned, arrange a tradeback with someone you trust.
- Item evolutions require the item during the exchange. Confirm the held item is present before accepting.
- Trading may not be the only way to get every result. The guides list some evolved forms as available in the wild, so check in-game availability if you would rather not trade.
- Online play requires an internet connection. Nintendo also documents nearby local trading. Its cited instructions do not establish online subscription requirements; check Nintendo Switch Online terms for your region.
