The best players for EA Sports FC 25’s Flash Step Evolution are eligible left-winger items that can make good use of its pace boost and attacking upgrades. There is no verified best-to-worst ranking across the candidates below: the available guides name suggested cards but do not show comparative testing. Treat this as an editorial shortlist, then confirm your exact card in the live Evolution menu before you commit it.
Flash Step requirements and availability
WeFUT and Destructoid report that Flash Step requires a left-winger item meeting all of these limits: maximum 89 overall, 93 pace, 90 dribbling, 10 PlayStyles, and two PlayStyle+. The exact version of a player card matters; a different item for the same player may not qualify. EA advises checking the Evolution’s requirements and unlock cost in game before submitting a Player Item.

The captured WeFUT page displays “Expires 5 April at 17:00” but does not state a year. Destructoid’s guide was published March 17, 2025, and these sources do not establish whether Flash Step is available on October 7, 2026. Check the Evolutions menu in your current FC 25 Ultimate Team rather than assuming the slot is active.
Nine player items to consider
The order below is an editorial shortlist, not a tested performance ranking. Destructoid lists the first eight cards as candidates; WeFUT shows Stoichkov as an additional example. Evaluate the exact item you own against the live requirements and your squad needs.

DLC content may not work unless using an EU Playstation account as stated this is an EU Import Region Free Version
- Lauren Hemp TOTW — One of Destructoid’s suggested items. Check its specific card’s eligibility and current attributes in game.
- Luis Díaz TOTW — A second Destructoid candidate. Consider it if the eligible item’s starting attributes and PlayStyles suit how you use your left wing.
- Lamine Yamal POTM — Destructoid names this version as an option; confirm the POTM item itself qualifies rather than assuming all Yamal cards do.
- Savinho TOTW — Another suggested TOTW item. Compare its starting pace, dribbling, and existing PlayStyles with the requirements and upgrades.
- Bryan Gil Winter Wildcards — Destructoid includes this version among its candidates. The item’s exact attributes determine whether it is eligible.
- Son Centurions — A named candidate from Destructoid. Check the Centurions item’s eligibility and whether its upgraded role fits your attack.
- Ryan Cherki RTTK — Destructoid suggests this RTTK version. Use the in-game item display to verify its limits and PlayStyle count.
- Kvaratskhelia Trailblazers — Destructoid’s final named candidate. Confirm the Trailblazers item qualifies before choosing it over other eligible cards.
- Stoichkov — WeFUT displays Stoichkov as an example player. The page does not establish a specific version or validate every Stoichkov item, so treat this as a lead to check, not a guaranteed eligible choice.
How to choose between eligible cards
Since the sources do not establish a universal order, compare the item you can actually submit using these factors:
- Eligibility first: Check overall, pace, dribbling, position, and PlayStyle limits in the Evolution menu. The game’s submission screen is authoritative for your item.
- Upgrade headroom: Compare the card’s starting attributes with the Evolution’s caps and boosts. A player name alone does not reveal how that particular version will finish.
- PlayStyles and role: Note the item’s existing PlayStyles and PlayStyle+, then decide whether the resulting LW roles and upgrades complement your preferred attacking role.
- Squad fit: Choose a card you expect to use at left wing; do not treat a candidate list as proof that one item is objectively superior for every team.
What Flash Step upgrades
WeFUT and Destructoid describe a four-level path. Across the Evolution, it can add up to 35 pace, with further boosts to shooting, passing, dribbling, defending, and physical attributes. The listed additions also include weak-foot and skill-move increases, Rapid+, Low Driven Shot+, Trickster, a cosmetic upgrade, and LW roles. Individual final attributes and caps vary with the starting item, so consult the in-game preview rather than applying a single final-stat line to every candidate.
Rank #2
Objectives and item commitment
The sources describe early objectives that include playing three matches and winning one, followed by playing three and winning two, using the active Evolution player in Rush, Rivals, Champions, or Squad Battles on at least Semi-Pro. Later objectives include three matches in Rivals or Champions, additional matches in eligible modes, and winning three matches in any mode. Requirements can depend on the slot’s live state; follow the objective text shown in game.
EA’s Evolutions guidance says that while an item is in a standard Evolution slot, it becomes untradeable and cannot be discarded or used in SBCs. Upgrades become permanent after the challenges are completed and claimed. Evolution slots can also have activation and completion time limits, so check the specific slot before starting.
