To complete the Grendel’s Head lead in Atomfall, get the request from Alf Buckshaw at the Grendel’s Head pub in Wyndham Village, collect messages from Nora and Eric in Skethermoor, then bring both back to Alf. The walkthrough reports two Molotov Cocktails as the reward. It also describes a separate Atomic Battery pickup after a later return to the village; that pickup is not identified as a guaranteed lead reward.
How to start the Grendel’s Head lead
Go to the Grendel’s Head pub in Wyndham Village and speak with bartender Alf Buckshaw. The Neoseeker walkthrough places the pub at approximately 34.2E, 79.3N and describes opening the request through conversation. It reports that the Curious prompt about the village’s condition or the Tired prompt asking for a drink may lead to the favor. If those options do not appear, the guide says to trade with Alf once and speak with him again. Its reported dialogue then involves agreeing to help, answering evasively when asked about Protocol, and accepting the task of collecting two messages. These dialogue details and coordinates are guide-reported, not verified across every game version or save.

Other ways to discover the lead
The walkthrough also reports two alternate clues: a “Use Wisely” note in a Skethermoor Underground Cache, or “Eric’s Message for Alf” on Eric Whittaker at the Greenhouses. These can reveal the lead, but the guide says Alf remains part of completing it: you still need to take the messages to him.
Where to find Nora’s message
Find Nora in Skethermoor and obtain her message for Alf. Gamer Guides’ lead entry confirms that Nora’s Message For Alf is delivered to Alf at the Grendel’s Head in Wyndham Village. The entry transcribes the in-game note as: “To Alf, Grendel’s Head, Wyndham, Seven shipments, six guineas. My last offer. N“ (Gamer Guides).

Where to find Eric’s message
Go to the westernmost Greenhouse in Skethermoor, where the Neoseeker walkthrough places Eric Whittaker at approximately 43.3E, 75.0N. The guide reports that Eric is dead and that “Eric’s Message for Alf” can be collected from his body.
The walkthrough warns of a tripwire in the doorway. It suggests disarming it if you have the required skill, or jumping and rushing past it. Treat this as the guide’s reported advice; the hazard and coordinates have not been independently verified across builds.

Deliver both messages and claim the reward
Return to Alf at the Grendel’s Head and hand over both messages. The Neoseeker walkthrough says Alf asks about Eric and reports no consequence for telling him the truth. It says the lead then resolves and awards two Molotov Cocktails. Nora’s message entry also identifies Alf at Grendel’s Head as its recipient (Gamer Guides).
Reported follow-up: an Atomic Battery
Neoseeker describes an additional pickup after the lead is resolved: leave Wyndham Village, return later, and look for a downed robot near 34.4E, 80.7N, where an Atomic Battery is reportedly available. The guide does not establish that this pickup is guaranteed across versions or independent of other conditions, so treat it as a possible follow-up rather than part of Alf’s stated reward.
