In Survive on a Raft, the Roblox experience by The Raft Studio, the early goal is to turn a small starting raft into a workable base: collect floating crates, craft essentials, and avoid risky swims when you are low on energy. The official listing says the experience is available on PC, console, and mobile; the tactics below come from a third-party guide and may vary as the game changes. Check the Roblox experience listing.
What to prioritize when you start
Crates are the reported main source of early food and crafting materials. A guide updated November 28, 2025 recommends collecting them first, then making a basic weapon before spending too many resources on raft expansion. These are guide recommendations, not guarantees about the current build. Read the guide.
- Look for floating crates and weigh the value of a swim against your current energy and nearby threats.
- Keep food available. The guide reports that swimming and fighting consume energy, and that running out can lead to health loss.
- Craft a basic weapon when you have the materials, then build out the essentials you need to function.
Build a practical raft, not just a bigger one
The guide recommends a modest platform with a crafting table, light, and a campfire for cooking raw food. Treat these as reported tactics; recipes and item behavior can change. It also warns that objects placed near the edge may be lost to sharks or water, so leave a margin around valuable items.
Use space for essentials
Prioritize room to move and access to food over rapid expansion. A compact raft that lets you reach your crafting and cooking stations may be more useful early on than a larger platform without basic infrastructure.

Keep food and crafting accessible
Place food and frequently used stations where you can reach them quickly. The guide reports that a campfire lets players cook raw food and that a crafting table opens access to more recipes; verify those functions in your current game.
Prepare for nighttime pressure
The guide reports that enemies appear after dark and that pressure grows over successive days. It recommends lighting, open space to move, readily available food, and a repair hammer once you can craft one. No single structure is presented as a guarantee of survival.

Decide when to swim for crates
Swimming may bring in needed resources, but it also spends energy and can expose you to nearby threats. The guide advises avoiding risky swims when energy is low. If a crate is not worth the danger in the moment, staying on the raft and waiting for a safer opportunity is a reasonable choice; the available guidance does not establish which approach is always better.
Progress beyond the opening phase
For later progression, the guide describes a placed item catcher that gathers resources passively and a furnace used to refine ore for higher-tier equipment. Those details, including recipes and item behavior, may change. The guide was updated November 28, 2025, so check the current in-game crafting menus before planning around a specific item.

Controls and platform differences
The official listing confirms PC, console, and mobile availability, but does not document specific controls. The November 2025 guide reports WASD movement, V for crafting, B for items, and left mouse button to attack or use an item on PC; it describes mobile as using on-screen touch buttons. Treat these as reported mappings, not confirmed current bindings. Check the live game’s controls, especially on console. Open the official experience listing or consult the guide.
