What is Kyurem weak to?
Kyurem, Black Kyurem, and White Kyurem are Dragon/Ice-type Pokémon. Fighting, Rock, Dragon, Steel, and Fairy attacks are super effective against these raid bosses, according to The Pokémon Company International’s official raid battle tips, published February 28, 2025.
How to choose raid counters
Match both attacks to a weakness when possible
Favor a Pokémon whose Fast Attack and Charged Attack deal damage with one of the five super-effective types. Among Pokémon that fit, choose options with strong overall stats and high CP. The official guidance does not give a ranked counter roster for the December 2025 rotation, so the best choice depends on your available Pokémon and their moves.

Balance damage against survivability
Dragon-type attacks are effective, but Dragon Pokémon are vulnerable to many attacks available to these bosses. The Pokémon Company International cautions: “Although Dragon-type attacks are effective against Kyurem, Dragon-type Pokémon are vulnerable to most of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem’s available attacks—keep that in mind when selecting your Pokémon.” If your Dragon attacker faints quickly, a less vulnerable counter with a super-effective move may be more useful over the battle.
Use Party Power and Mega Evolution
- Party Power: Party members can help charge Party Power faster. Activating it boosts the next Charged Attack, so coordinate with other raiders to make use of it.
- Mega Evolution: A Mega-Evolved Pokémon can boost raid damage for participating Pokémon that share its type. Choose a Mega option that complements the attackers in your group.
What affects raid rewards?
A faster raid win affects the number of Premier Balls awarded for the catch encounter, according to the official strategy article. Strong counters and coordinated damage can help finish the battle sooner; do not treat any particular counter or party setup as a guaranteed result.
