The games became available the next day on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. That roster is a historical launch list, not a guarantee of what the service includes now.
What was in the Xbox Game Pass Core launch library?
Xbox Wire’s September 13, 2023 announcement named these 36 games for the September 14 launch:
- Among Us
- Astroneer

- Dead Cells
- Descenders
- Dishonored 2
- DOOM Eternal Standard Edition
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Firewatch
- Forza Horizon 4 Standard Edition
- Gang Beasts
- Gears 5 Game of the Year Edition
- Golf with your Friends
- Grounded
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
- Human Fall Flat
- INSIDE
- LIMBO
- Ori & the Will of the Wisps
- Overcooked! 2
- Payday 2: Crimewave Edition

- Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition
- Stardew Valley

- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

Xbox Wire’s full-list announcement also said the library would be updated two to three times a year.
Is that still the current Game Pass Core list?
No. The 36 titles are the launch roster announced in 2023; they should not be treated as a list of games currently included. Xbox said availability could change over time and by country. Its current catalog notice says game titles, quantity, features, and availability vary by time, region, plan, and platform.

What did Core include, and what did it cost at launch?
When Microsoft announced Core in July 2023, it described the plan as a combination of online console multiplayer, a selected game collection, and member deals. The announcement said new games would be added two to three times a year. Its stated U.S. launch prices were $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year; those are launch-era prices, not current pricing. See Xbox Wire’s July 2023 announcement for the original terms.

Plan names and offerings have since changed. Xbox’s September 2024 guide described Core as its main option for online console multiplayer and Standard as including Core benefits plus access to hundreds of console games. The current catalog page instead displays Essential, Premium, and Ultimate as plan labels. For a present-day choice, compare the live local price, included games, platforms, multiplayer, and cloud features on Xbox’s current catalog page; the older 2024 plan guide is useful as historical context, not a current price list.
