Destiny 2 Exotic armor is class-specific: Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks each have their own collection, organized across helmets, gauntlets, chest pieces, legs, and class items where available. A current database lists 348 Exotic armor entries, but that is a record count—not a verified count of unique designs. Because item perks and acquisition routes vary, use the in-game Collections page and current Bungie information to check a specific piece.
How the Exotic armor collection is organized
There are three player classes—Titan, Hunter, and Warlock—and Exotic armor is specific to its class. Within each class, armor is grouped by slot: helmet, gauntlets, chest, legs, and class item where applicable. The Destiny2.GamesRef armor database reports 348 Exotic armor entries among 6,029 total armor pieces. This is the database’s entry count; repeated records or versions may contribute, and the number of unique designs has not been independently verified.

This guide is a map to the collection, not an audited inventory of every perk. For an individual Exotic’s current effect and availability, consult its in-game Collections entry and current Bungie activity, vendor, and patch information.
What changed for Exotic armor stats
Bungie’s 2026 Monument of Triumph article says: “Moving forward, all Exotic armor will have Tier 5 stats and will have access to all tuning mods.” Bungie says the change applies retroactively to Armor 3.0 Exotics, with Collections rolls excepted, and that it updated a selection of Exotics from each class. This is the current system-level guidance in that announcement; it does not mean every Exotic has the same perk or balance status.

#1 Best Overall
Earlier Armor 3.0 figures should not be mistaken for the current general rule. Bungie’s Update 9.0.0.1 notes described Exotic pieces as untiered and rolling as if Tier 2, with 58–63 total stats (73–78 when Masterworked); fixed Collections rolls had 52 total stats before Masterworking. The later Tier 5 announcement supersedes that prospective stat context for the change it describes.
Where to get a specific Exotic
There is no single acquisition route for every Exotic armor piece. The general Exotic armor overview identifies Exotic Engrams, quests, and public-event rewards among possible routes, but it does not establish a current route for every item. Check the item’s Collections entry and current in-game vendor or activity information before planning a farm.

Acquisition details can also be patch-sensitive. For example, Bungie’s Update 9.5.6 notes say the update fixed an issue that prevented Graviton Forfeit from being focused at Master Rahool. The same notes fixed Abeyant Leap’s suspend duration. These are dated examples, not universal acquisition or perk rules.

Only one Exotic armor piece may be equipped at a time, according to the general overview. Choose the piece that best supports the activity and build you intend to play rather than planning around multiple Exotic armor effects. When comparing candidates, check their class and slot, perk effect, subclass or ability interaction, and intended role—such as damage, survivability, support, or ability uptime—against current in-game descriptions.
