They can attack enemies up to 2.5 m (8 ft) away, compared with the usual 1.5 m (5 ft) reach for melee weapons. Below are the named variants in each category, with unobtainable legacy entries identified separately.
What Extra Reach means in BG3
Extra Reach is a melee weapon property: it extends horizontal attack range to 2.5 m (8 ft), rather than the typical 1.5 m (5 ft). It does not extend vertical reach, so an enemy on a higher or lower level may still be out of range. The BG3 Wiki weapon overview lists glaives, halberds, and pikes as the weapon categories with Extra Reach.
All three are two-handed martial melee weapon types. Their base damage types differ: glaives and halberds deal slashing damage, while pikes deal piercing damage. Named items may add enchantments, actions, or other effects.

Choosing among Extra Reach weapons
Reach is shared by all three categories, so it does not by itself distinguish one weapon from another. Compare the weapon’s damage type, enchantment, and special effects against your character’s build and the encounter. A weapon with a useful action or passive can be a better fit for one situation without being universally best.

- Choose a glaive or halberd if slashing damage suits the target; choose a pike if piercing damage is preferable.
- Check the individual item’s effects before committing to a weapon, especially where a benefit comes with a drawback, as with Light of Creation or Harmonium Halberd.
- Do not count on Extra Reach to hit a target at a different elevation; the property does not extend vertical reach.
