Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition aired on December 11, 2024, the day before The Game Awards. Its lineup ranged from narrative simulations and puzzle adventures to platformers, shooters, and multiplayer party games. Two of its clearest date announcements were Bionic Bay for March 13, 2025, on PlayStation and Hyper Light Breaker for Steam Early Access on January 14, 2025—dates announced at the time, not upcoming releases.

What was announced at Day of the Devs 2024?

The showcase mixed first looks with updates on previously revealed games. Day of the Devs’ advance announcement said the livestream would feature 19 indie titles and seven world premieres. Afterward, GameSpot described 19 games, while VGC reported 18; the published coverage does not provide a single reconciled count. The game-by-game list below follows the titles and descriptions in that post-show coverage. Day of the Devs’ announcement also gave the livestream time as December 11 at 9 a.m. PT. GameSpot’s roundup includes Recur; VGC’s roundup gives the lower total.

Day of the Devs describes itself as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that celebrates video-game creativity and gives emerging or underrepresented talent a platform. It says its virtual and in-person events are free for developers and attendees. The organization’s mission is to connect players and developers while amplifying emerging or underrepresented creators.

Which games got release dates?

Bionic Bay

Developers Mureena and Psychoflow presented Bionic Bay, a physics-based platformer set in a biomechanical world, with a swap mechanic at its core. The show confirmed a PlayStation release date of March 13, 2025. PlayStation’s showcase recap covered the date and game.

Hyper Light Breaker

Heart Machine and Arc Games announced that the co-op roguelite Hyper Light Breaker would enter Steam Early Access on January 14, 2025. That was the planned date announced during the 2024 showcase. GameSpot’s recap records the announcement.

What games were shown at the Day of the Devs Game Awards Edition?

The games span very different play styles: quiet narrative and creative simulations, exploration and word puzzles, movement-focused platformers, combat, and multiplayer party play.

Stories, simulations, and exploration

  • inKonbini: One Store. Many Stories. A single-player narrative simulation about Makoto working in a small-town Japanese convenience store in the early 1990s. PlayStation’s recap describes the setting and premise.
  • Crescent County A single-player, open-world delivery life sim on a solarpunk island. Courier Lu travels by motorbroom and races at night.
  • Curiosmos A cozy space simulation about designing a solar system, shaping planets, and exploring.
  • Faraway A procedurally generated audiovisual game about a shooting star creating constellations.
  • Blippo+ Yacht, Telefantasy Studios, and Panic’s project was presented as over-the-top television and broadcast fiction; VGC noted its creators’ tagline, “video is no game.”

Puzzles, strategy, and unusual ideas

  • Blue Prince A first-person strategy and adventure puzzle game set in a mansion whose rooms shift, with a mysterious history to uncover.
  • LOK Digital A video-game adaptation of the paper puzzle book LOK. Players discover words and use their effects to change the puzzle world.
  • Kingmakers An action-strategy sandbox imagining modern weapons in medieval battles, playable solo or in co-op.

Platformers and movement-driven games

  • Demon Tides Fabraz’s expressive platformer and sequel to Demon Turf. The developer said newcomers would not need to have played the original.
  • PBJ: The Musical Kamibox’s musical platform game tells a deliberately whimsical peanut-butter-and-jelly story, with music by Lorraine Bowen.
  • Recur GameSpot’s roundup includes this 2D platformer, built around controlling time through the direction of movement.

Action, combat, and multiplayer

  • Feltopia A shooter with a wool-and-felt stop-motion style, starring a sheep herder protecting a flock.
  • Incolatus: Don’t Stop, Girlypop! A colorful arena movement shooter whose developer description says faster movement increases both damage and healing.
  • Neon Abyss 2 Veewo Games’ roguelike sequel adds a weapon system supporting melee and ranged combat styles.
  • Sleight of Hand A third-person stealth-action and card game about Lady Luck confronting her former witch coven in Steeple City.
  • TankHead Alpha Channel’s post-apocalyptic combat adventure centers on people projecting their minds into drones. VGC reported it was available that day on the Epic Games Store.
  • Ultimate Sheep Raccoon A bike-racing party game in which players build obstacle courses. PlayStation said it supports up to eight players locally, online, and cross-platform. PlayStation’s recap describes its multiplayer options.

How to make sense of the lineup

The showcase was not organized around one genre or mode of play. For a slower, character-focused experience, inKonbini centers on everyday work in a small-town store; for open-ended creation, Curiosmos focuses on shaping a solar system. Puzzle-minded players could look to the shifting rooms of Blue Prince or the word-based mechanics of LOK Digital. Those seeking action had options from the movement-driven Incolatus to the combat-focused Neon Abyss 2 and TankHead. For shared play, the lineup included Hyper Light Breaker’s co-op roguelite structure and Ultimate Sheep Raccoon’s course-building races.

The announcements are a snapshot of what the games’ creators presented in December 2024. The cited showcase coverage does not establish current prices, regional platform availability, or present-day release status for every title.
