Anatomy Arcade is a free website for practicing human anatomy through games, interactives, and videos. Its catalog includes activities for several body systems and a range of formats, from matching and jigsaws to crosswords and signature games. It can be useful for revision, but beginners should choose activities carefully—and check that the specific game they want still works on their device.
What is Anatomy Arcade?
Anatomy Arcade presents itself as a learning and revision resource, with an audience ranging from novice teenagers to health-care students and professionals reviewing anatomy. Its homepage describes games, interactives, and videos intended to make basic anatomy engaging. The site’s creator, Ben Crossett, says he began making games to help teach basic human anatomy. Anatomy Arcade | About Anatomy Arcade
Think of it as a way to practice recognizing structures and terms, rather than as a complete anatomy course. The available material does not establish that playing the games independently improves learning outcomes.
What kinds of games and topics are available?
The game index organizes activities by body system and by format. Its system navigation covers skeletal, articular, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, nervous, digestive, endocrine, and general anatomy. Formats listed include signature games, jigsaws, crosswords, word searches, Match Two activities, animations, and other interactives. Anatomy Arcade games

Signature games
The site identifies Whack-A-Bone and Poke-A-Muscle as its signature games. An educator resource from the University of Lancashire describes Poke-A-Muscle as practice identifying major superficial muscles across ten stages. That is a description of the activity, not a current compatibility check. University of Lancashire: Anatomy Arcade
Jigsaws, matching, and word activities
The catalog includes jigsaws for subjects such as the skeletal system, brain, eye, heart, digestive system, neuron, thorax, synovial joints, and urinary system. Anatomy Arcade says jigsaws help learners become familiar with anatomical diagrams. Its Match Two activities are intended to build associations between words and images; word searches offer another way to encounter terminology. Anatomy Arcade games

- HOW ORGAN ATTACK PLAYS — Deal the organ cards, attack your opponents with real afflictions, defend with immunity cards. Last player holding an organ wins. 2-6 players, ages 8+, 30-90 minutes. Learn it in one round.

Crosswords
Crosswords can be a more demanding vocabulary exercise. The site cautions that they are not designed for beginners unless used like a webquest, where learners can look up unfamiliar terms as they solve them. Anatomy Arcade games
How should a beginner choose an activity?
The site warns that many games may challenge people new to anatomy, including primary- or elementary-school learners. That difficulty can expose learners to unfamiliar terminology, but it may also make a game frustrating if the basic structures are not familiar yet. Anatomy Arcade for students

- EXPANSION PACK - THE ORGAN ATTACK BASE GAME IS REQUIRED. Malady Madness is an add-on for the Organ Attack card game, not a standalone organ attack game. The base deck is not included in this pack. 2-6 players, ages 8+, 30-90 minutes.
- FOUR NEW ORGANS FOR YOUR ORGAN CARD GAME. Fat, Mesentery, Diaphragm and Ear join the anatomy game, each with new afflictions. An organ board game twist: Fat was a plushie only until now, and few players know the mesentery.
- A MEDICAL GAME FOR NURSES, DOCTORS AND STUDENTS. Each affliction is matched to the organ it affects, which makes it a nurse gift, a doctor game and a healthcare or medical student gift. Played in break rooms and residency groups.
- FOR FAMILY GAME NIGHT, STEM AND BIOLOGY CLASS. Human body learning for kids 8-12 and fun for adults. 31 new virus and disease cards shuffle straight in. An organ donor game joke in every hand. Stacks with Teams and Free Radical.
- SOLD BY THE AWKWARD YETI. Drawn by Nick Seluk, creator of the Heart and Brain comics. A stocking stuffer, birthday present and anatomy gift for anyone who already owns the Organ Attack base game.
- Choose one body system. For example, use the skeletal category if your goal is bone identification rather than general anatomy practice.
- Start with visual recognition. Try a relevant jigsaw or a matching activity to connect a structure’s appearance with its name.
- Practice retrieval. Move to a word search or a signature game once you recognize some of the terms.
- Use crosswords as a challenge. If you are new to the topic, treat them as an open-reference activity and look up terms rather than guessing repeatedly.
This sequence is a practical way to move from visual familiarity toward recalling names; it is not a learning plan prescribed or tested by the site.
How can I practice labeling bones?
For bone labeling, begin with the skeletal-system section and use its jigsaw or bone-focused activities to become familiar with diagrams and names. Whack-A-Bone is one of the site’s named signature games, and the University of Lancashire also points learners to Anatomy Arcade for bone study. To make practice more deliberate, cover the labels on a diagram and try to name each bone before checking the answer. Then revisit missed names in a different format, such as a matching activity or a word search. Physical anatomy flash cards can also be used as a separate recall aid; they are not an Anatomy Arcade product or an endorsement by the site.

Check the specific activity you want to play. Anatomy Arcade reported in February 2021 that Poke-A-Muscle had been remade from Flash to HTML5 and described laptop and touchscreen use. That dated announcement confirms the site’s report about that game at that time; it does not establish that every activity works in current browsers or on every device. Anatomy Arcade homepage

What should readers know about the site’s history?
The creator’s about page describes an intention to build signature games for more body systems and to offer an ad-free subscription area with leaderboards. It records a plan, not confirmation that a subscription or leaderboard is currently available. The news archive also includes 2008 references to Primal Pictures images and to Whack-A-Bone being included in Skwirk’s education portal; those are historical mentions, not evidence of current partnerships.
