Who is publishing Maverick Games’ new driving game?
Focus Entertainment announced its publishing partnership with Maverick Games on 24 August 2026. Focus’s current game page also names Focus Entertainment Publishing as publisher and Maverick Games as developer. Focus’s partnership announcement gives the same publisher and developer roles.
Amazon Games is not the publisher named in those current official listings. Its current games catalog does not list Clutch; that absence alone does not establish the history or timing of any earlier arrangement.
What is the game called?
The game is Clutch. Maverick Games revealed the title in its June 2026 announcement, and Focus uses that name on its live game page.

When does Clutch come out, and on what platforms?
Focus and Maverick have announced a Spring 2027 release window for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Focus’s game page lists the release year as 2027. Spring 2027 is a planned window, not a day-specific release date, and may change before launch. The official Focus page links to a Steam wishlist; that is not confirmation that the game is currently available to buy.
What kind of driving game is Clutch?
Focus describes Clutch as an open-world racing game centered on a generation of racing outsiders living a double life: professional motorsport during the day and dangerous underground racing at night. Maverick’s June 2026 reveal says its story follows sibling racing prodigies competing in the fictional R1K series and an underground group called the Midnight Collective.

Announced story and gameplay
The studios describe a mix of professional races and underground race-and-chase sandbox play, with missions, rival crews, pursuits, and vehicle personalization. Focus also credits the original story to Jamie Brittain, co-creator of Skins, and says vehicle customization will shape players’ style and progression. These are announced features and descriptions, not hands-on findings.
Maverick founder Mike Brown said the studio’s mission was for Clutch to push the genre forward through open-world sandbox gameplay and a “generational leap” in the elements players enjoy about driving games. That is the developer’s promotional characterization, not an independent assessment.
