Twinfold is a paid puzzle game for iPhone, iPad, Windows, and macOS that combines swipe-based board movement, merging golden idols, and enemy encounters in a roguelike structure. Its central hook is clear from the store descriptions; whether its planning and risk-reward decisions make for a satisfying experience is a matter for hands-on play, not something the listings establish.
What kind of game is Twinfold?
Developer Kenny Sun describes Twinfold as a roguelike about merging golden idols and squashing enemies. Players swipe to manipulate a labyrinthine board, bringing idols together while dealing with hostile faces and building a character through level-up abilities. Apple and Steam both describe the game as featuring procedural micro-puzzles.
That combination gives the premise more to juggle than a straightforward number-merging puzzle: board movement, merging, and enemy management all sit inside the same loop. The official listings advertise more than 40 unique skills and seven enemy types, but those feature counts do not by themselves indicate how the game balances its options or how challenging a run feels.
What the store listings establish—and what they do not
The official descriptions explain the basic mechanics and list features, but they are not independent reviews. They do not establish the quality of the difficulty curve, the fairness of a run, how well the skills interact, or whether the controls feel equally good on touchscreens and computers. Those are the questions a player should answer through gameplay rather than infer from promotional copy.

One App Store review dated December 15, 2018 called it a “Hardcore roguelike puzzle” and described it as “Threes with a flair.” That is one player’s characterization, not a consensus or a substitute for evaluating the game yourself.

Mobile features, ratings, and update history
Apple’s listing advertises haptic feedback on iPhone 7 and newer, Game Center support with four leaderboards and seven achievements, and compatibility with iPhone and iPad. Steam lists seven achievements. The App Store snapshot accessed October 7, 2026 showed 4.8 out of 5 from 302 ratings; Steam showed 92% positive from 14 reviews. Both figures can change, and the Steam total is a small user-review sample, so neither should be treated as an independent quality measure.
The latest App Store version listed is 1.0.4, dated May 26, 2020, with minor bug fixes and additional credits. That version history documents the listing’s update record; it does not establish whether the game is actively supported today.
