Asterix & Obelix: Heroes Review — What the Available Evidence Says

Asterix & Obelix: Heroes is a single-player tactical card adventure. Here’s what its platform listings and changing customer ratings establish—and what they don’t.

Asterix & Obelix: Heroes is a single-player, turn-based tactical card adventure—not a real-time beat ’em up. Its published feature set includes up to 24 heroes, more than 150 cards and six regions. Storefront customer ratings are mixed, but those scores are snapshots rather than a substitute for a hands-on review, so the available evidence does not establish how well its combat, balance or campaign hold up in play.

What kind of game is Asterix & Obelix: Heroes?

You build and adapt decks, upgrade heroes and fight through encounters on a gameboard-like map. Nintendo’s product listing says players can unlock up to 24 heroes and travel through six regions; an official franchise announcement describes more than 150 cards. Publisher descriptions mention cards such as menhir attacks and Getafix’s healing potions. These figures describe the advertised feature set, not independent assessments of strategic depth or balance.

Nintendo’s product page sums up the progression loop this way: “Fight using the cards, upgrade your heroes and add to your deck during the adventure.” Nintendo of America’s product listing provides the US edition details.

What do player reviews say?

The available storefront indicators differ and should be read separately. The US PlayStation Store showed an average of 3.73 out of 5 from 120 player ratings when accessed on October 7, 2026. That is a changing customer-rating snapshot, not a critic score or a representative survey.

#1 Best Overall
Asmodee, Dobble Asterix, Fast-paced Family Game, German
  • Details - 2-8 players, ages 6+, 15 minutes playing time per game, authors: Denis Blanchot, Jacques Cottereau and Play Factory, game in German
  • Dobble meets the comic book license Asterix - Finds the familiar items and characters from the Asterix universe. Experience cult characters such as Asterix, Obelix and Idefix in a fast game full of pace and Gallic humour.
  • Fast reaction game for Asterix fans - Be the first to find the matching symbol on two cards, name it and collect points. Don't be fooled by the size of the symbols.
  • Multiple game variants - Five different game variants ensure that each game is new and exciting. Including the exclusive game variant The Wedge, where you defend the Gallic village with a few targeted slaps.
  • CONVENIENT METAL TIN - Comes in a dedicated Asterix metal tin so you can take Dobble Asterix anywhere and play with you.

Steam’s 2026 listing snapshot showed 68% positive from 41 user reviews and labeled its overall rating “Mixed.” Storefront totals and percentages can change, and this sample is separate from PlayStation’s; the two figures should not be combined into a single score. See the Steam listing for its current review status.

These figures offer some audience reaction, but they do not answer the questions a detailed review normally would: whether encounters stay varied, how difficult the campaign becomes, or how satisfying deck-building feels over time. No firsthand playtest or well-defined professional critic aggregate is established here, so a confident verdict on those qualities would go beyond the evidence.

Is Asterix & Obelix: Heroes suitable for kids?

ESRB rates the game Everyone with Mild Fantasy Violence. Its rating summary says players select cards to damage cartoon enemies; impacts are accompanied by sounds and brief cries of pain. That describes the regulator’s content assessment, rather than a personal age recommendation.

Is it worth playing?

The case for considering it is clearest if you want a single-player card-strategy adventure in the Asterix setting: the advertised systems include hero unlocks, deck additions, upgrades and a multi-region journey. The evidence does not support a stronger recommendation based on gameplay quality, campaign length, performance, balance or repetition. Treat the customer scores as limited, changing signals, and use a current store listing to confirm the edition and price that apply to you.
