Atari announced in April 2023 that it had acquired a package of more than 100 PC and console games from the 1980s and 1990s, drawing from Accolade, Infogrames, and MicroProse. The announcement names several familiar series, but it does not publish a complete inventory or establish that Atari bought every game those companies ever released.
What games did Atari acquire?
Atari’s April 19, 2023 announcement describes the acquisition as more than 100 PC and console titles from the 1980s and 1990s. It identifies the package as drawing from Accolade, Infogrames, and MicroProse, and gives these examples:
- Games from the Bubsy franchise
- Games from the Hardball franchise
- Games from the Demolition Racer franchise
- The 1942: Pacific Air War, F-117A, and F-14 air-combat series
Those are examples, not a complete list. The announcement does not provide the names of all 100-plus titles, their original platforms, or a title-by-title account of rights and territories. It also does not identify a purchase price.
Did Atari buy the rights to Bubsy and Hardball?
The announcement includes games from both franchises in the acquired package, so it supports saying Atari acquired rights connected with those named games. It does not specify the precise rights, territories, or terms for each individual title. Atari also said it acquired the Accolade and GTI brand trademarks; the release describes Accolade as a US-based developer and publisher active from 1984 through 2000.

Did Atari acquire all of MicroProse’s old games?
There is no basis in the announcement for that conclusion. It describes a package of more than 100 titles drawing from MicroProse as well as Accolade and Infogrames; it does not say Atari acquired the entirety of any publisher’s back catalog. The same distinction applies to Infogrames: Atari’s current About page describes Infogrames as a publishing label under Atari for games and intellectual property outside Atari’s core-associated portfolio, but that present-day role does not establish that every legacy Infogrames game was part of the 2023 deal.
What did Atari say it planned to do with the games?
At announcement time, Atari said it would seek to expand digital and physical distribution, create new games based on the intellectual property, and explore brand and merchandising collaborations. CEO Wade Rosen also said fans could look forward to many titles being re-released in physical and digital formats, with some potentially ported to modern consoles. These were stated intentions in 2023, not confirmation that every activity happened or that every acquired game received a re-release.

Which acquired games can you play now?
The public materials cited here do not establish current availability title by title, including supported platforms, regions, editions, or physical versus digital format. Atari’s current games catalog lists Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection and offers physical-format games among its catalog filters. That listing is evidence of a current Bubsy product, but it does not show that the collection contains the specific games from the acquired package.
Atari’s FY2025 results release, dated July 9, 2025, reports later activity across its portfolio, including physical releases and game cartridges. It does not map those products to the 2023 acquisition title by title. For a particular game, check a current publisher or platform listing for the exact title, supported platform, region, and release format before relying on availability information.
