In Atomfall, “Hearing Voices” can refer to two related but distinct paths. If Reg Stansfield gave you a lead in Slate Mine Caves, follow the Reg route below. If you are helping baker Iris Baxter with her husband, follow the Strange Tonic route: ask Iris about the tonic, get its recipe from the Druids’ Castle Ruins, craft it, and return it to her.
Which Hearing Voices lead do you have?
Walkthroughs and findings databases use the “Hearing Voices” label for more than one thread. Your starting character is the quickest way to tell which one you mean.

The journal label does not appear to be a single, clearly defined quest name across these guides. The steps below focus on the Iris and Mother Jago tonic objective, which is the route that ends with a crafted item delivered to Iris.
Start the Iris Baxter tonic route
Find Iris at the Bakery
At the Wyndham Village Bakery, talk to Iris Baxter. The walkthroughs report that you should be honest that you do not work for the soldiers, respond sympathetically about her husband, and ask about the tonic that may quiet the voices. Iris points you toward Mother Jago in Casterfell Woods. The guide-reported Bakery coordinates are 33.4E, 80.2N; treat these as a convenience, not as official map validation.

If Iris or the lead is not available yet
A note titled “To Call Him a Monster…” in Wyndham Garage is reported to reveal The Bakery lead; the reported coordinates are 35.5E, 75.9N. The walkthrough also lists conversations with Vicar McHenry and Captain Sims as possible entry points. The findings database specifically says the related “The Baker’s Husband Has Been Hearing Voices” conversation unlocks by speaking with Vicar McHenry about the voices at St. Katherine’s Church. That finding can point you toward the thread, but it does not replace speaking with Iris to request the tonic.
Ask Mother Jago for the recipe
Go to Mother Jago at the Old Mine in Casterfell Woods. One walkthrough reports the location at 27.2E, 92.2N. Ask her about a tonic for Iris’s husband; she directs you to retrieve the Strange Tonic recipe from the Druids’ Castle Ruins.

Mother Jago also has a separate Herbalism Book request associated with her own lead. The walkthrough does not require that book for the Bakery tonic objective, so do not confuse it with the recipe you need.

- Approach from Old Forge Garage. The walkthrough reports the garage at 22.9E, 84.0N. Take the southern path and use the grass to reach a gap in the fence.
- Enter the ruins and reach the interior hub. The guide describes a ladder, a corridor with a wire trap, and a hub area beyond it. Watch for Druids around the ruins; the walkthrough recommends stealth.
- Search the library. From the hub, go to the library and collect the Strange Tonic recipe from a desk. The walkthrough says this activates the next objective.
- Gather the reported crafting supplies. The guide recommends collecting blue Spores near the recipe, Herbs from blue flower bushes, a Chemical, and three Glass.
Craft the tonic and return it to Iris
After collecting the ingredients, craft one Strange Tonic and take it back to Iris at the Wyndham Village Bakery. Delivering the tonic to her is the walkthrough’s stated completion step for the baker’s-husband objective. If your journal still points elsewhere, check that you spoke with Iris about the tonic and asked Mother Jago about a tonic for her husband; those are the conversations that connect the recipe objective to Iris’s request.
Follow Reg Stansfield’s separate lead
If Reg Stansfield is the character who gave you “Hearing Voices,” go to him in Slate Mine Caves in Slatten Dale and follow the lead he gives you toward the Druids’ Castle. Based Otaku places the caves on a progression route after the Helicopter Crash Site, while PCGamesN independently lists the conversation with Reg as the lead unlock. The available walkthrough listings do not establish that this Reg conversation is the same objective as delivering the Strange Tonic to Iris.
