Arknights: Endfield’s developers have acknowledged beta feedback about gacha-resource acquisition, early tutorials and progression flow. Some individual players have described the pulls as costly and the factory systems as confusing, but the available evidence does not show how widespread those views are—or prove that later updates resolved them.
What players are criticizing
The complaints center on three related questions: how much currency players can earn, how clearly the game explains its pull rules, and whether its tutorials make interconnected systems such as the factory understandable.
In a beta feedback post, the Endfield team said players had shared opinions on “early tutorials and progression flow” and “gacha resource acquisition,” alongside feedback about combat, presentation, compatibility and performance. The team said it was analyzing survey responses and player behavior, with some optimizations in internal verification. It did not publish survey results or counts showing how many players raised each issue. The team’s beta feedback communication is evidence that these topics were raised, not a measurement of overall player sentiment.
Individual reviews show the frustration, not its prevalence
One App Store reviewer called the gacha “awful,” objecting to the perceived cost of pulls and uncertainty around getting a desired character. The same reviewer said the systems were poorly explained and that the factory remained confusing after the tutorials. That is a useful example of what some players mean by the criticism, but one review cannot establish that most players share it. The App Store review also should not be treated as a reliable source for current banner mechanics.

In an April 2026 interview reported by GamesRadar+, Endfield lead developer Ryan said, “we are giving out more in-game currencies.” He also said, “I think the most important part of the gacha system is to not impact the player’s ability to enjoy the gameplay.” The report describes the team’s stated approach and monitoring; it does not establish that the economy has been fixed or that players no longer feel constrained. Have tutorials or pull rules been fixed?
The official communications document ongoing improvement work, but they do not confirm that the original tutorial and pull-economy complaints have all been resolved.
Tutorials and system friction
A March 2, 2026 development communication described factory and interface work, as well as planned optimizations. One planned change was a one-click way for players already familiar with the material to complete and claim Basic Training rewards. That is evidence of an effort to reduce friction for some players, not proof that the game’s tutorials now explain every system clearly. The March development communication is available in Endfield’s official news feed.

Pull costs, guarantees and banner rules
Pull costs, rates, guarantees and carry-over rules can depend on the current banner and may change. A player review or secondary guide should not substitute for the live in-game banner details. For example, Prydwen’s guide describes an Arsenal Issue featured-weapon guarantee that does not carry over, but the available material does not provide a complete official, current rule set. Check the relevant banner’s in-game rules before spending or assuming progress transfers. Prydwen’s Arsenal Issue guide is secondary mechanical context, not a substitute for the current in-game terms.
What the October 2026 update announcement establishes
On October 7, the Endfield team announced that the Sanctuary of Ink core chapter version was scheduled to launch on October 15, 2026. The notice listed quality-of-life improvements for the AIC factory and regional development. It also said the Steam version was scheduled for October 15 and would support cross-platform account-data synchronization. As of the announcement, these were upcoming plans, not confirmation that the update had shipped or that it addressed the pull economy and tutorial complaints. The announcement is in Endfield’s official news feed.

How to read the criticism
- Confirmed: The development team acknowledged beta feedback about tutorials, progression flow and gacha-resource acquisition.
- Illustrative, not representative: Individual App Store reviews describe frustration with pull costs and system clarity, but do not show how common those views are.
- Not established: The available statements do not demonstrate that the economy or onboarding problems have been solved, nor do they quantify player dissatisfaction.
- Check before pulling: Use the live banner’s rules for current rates, guarantees and carry-over rather than relying on old player testimony or secondary guides.
