It covered the prologue through the start of the main quest “Pioneering the Ligneus Region,” and progress could be carried into the full game under specific save and account conditions. The demo’s official page later posted a notice that availability would be gradually withdrawn starting June 10, so check your regional storefront before looking for a download.
When did the Atelier Yumia demo launch?
KOEI TECMO America announced on March 13, 2025 that the demo would begin appearing on March 16, with release times varying by storefront. Its March 17 release announcement then confirmed that the demo was available. KOEI TECMO Europe also published a release notice on March 17. The full game was announced for March 21, 2025. KOEI TECMO America’s demo release announcement and KOEI TECMO Europe’s notice provide the launch details.
The original announcement gave the following planned storefront times for March 16: 8 a.m. PDT for console storefronts and 6 a.m. PDT for Steam. These were advance-notice times; the later March 17 announcement confirmed availability.
What does the demo include?
The playable portion begins with the prologue and continues to the start of the early-game main quest “Pioneering the Ligneus Region.” Within that slice, players can explore the Ligneus region, gather ingredients, fight battles, synthesize items, and build a base. It is a sample of the game, not a guarantee that every feature or specification matches the full release; the official demo description cautions that some specifications and elements may differ. Which platforms were listed for the demo?
The original public-demo announcement named Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. That is the platform list in the 2025 announcement, not a guarantee that the download remains available on each platform today. The release announcement lists those systems.
KOEI TECMO Europe announced a digital Nintendo Switch 2 edition in June 2026, with GameShare, enhanced graphics, and improved framerates. The original demo platform list does not include Switch 2, and the official material cited here does not establish that a Switch 2 demo is available. Read the Switch 2 announcement.
Can you transfer demo progress to the full game?
Yes. The publisher says demo save data can carry over, but the transfer depends on the save state and account used. The release-version game must have no existing save, while a demo save must exist. At release-version startup, choose the on-screen prompt to transfer the demo data. The demo and full-game saves must use the same PlayStation Network account, Nintendo Account, or Microsoft account, as applicable. KOEI TECMO advises updating the full game before transferring. The official transfer instructions contain the conditions.

The demo does not award trophies or achievements on PlayStation, Xbox, or Steam. Imported progress can affect which achievements are available or unlocked in the full game, so do not expect the trial itself to grant them.

Is the demo still available to download?
The official trial page carries a notice that the demo would gradually become unavailable starting June 10. The displayed notice does not name a year, and the page does not establish the current status of every regional store. Check the PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, Microsoft Store, or Steam listing for your region rather than assuming the demo is still downloadable everywhere. Check the official trial page as well.

The full game is the direct continuation: the transfer feature connects the trial save to the purchased release when its conditions are met. Choose the platform and edition that match the account and system used for the demo.

Edition details depend on region and release. KOEI TECMO America described a Premium Box sold through the NIS America Store with the base game, a Yumia plush, artbook, six keychains, an extra-track CD, and a short story with translation booklet. KOEI TECMO Europe described Premium Box and Special Collection Box contents with additional art and themed goods. Its 2025 announcement said Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam versions were digital only in that release context. These details should not be assumed to apply unchanged in every region or to later editions. How many copies has Atelier Yumia sold?
KOEI TECMO Holdings’ FY24 title-lineup investor document, published in 2025, labels Atelier Yumia “Over 300K copies.” This is the threshold stated in that document, not a current lifetime sales total. See the FY24 title-lineup document.
