Argentum Age is a digital collectible card game (DCCG) where the central tactical choice is where to summon creatures—and how to influence them afterward. Creatures act on their own once summoned, so the game’s stated premise emphasizes positioning and indirect control through spells. Argentum Age is listed as in development; beta access and supported platforms may change.

What is Argentum Age?

DMLabs describes Argentum Age as “a digital collectible card game with tactical elements and a focus on skill and positioning.” The project’s GitHub README calls it an open-source DCCG built on the open-source Anura engine and describes it as a turn-based strategy game.

That combination makes board placement—not just card selection—the defining idea in the available descriptions. The developer tags it as a multiplayer, tactical strategy/card game, but those tags do not establish the current state of every mode or feature.

How does positioning work?

Players choose where to summon creatures on a board. After that, creatures act independently; spells can influence their behavior. The tactical loop is therefore to position units with their autonomous actions in mind, then use spells to affect what they do. The available descriptions do not provide enough detail to establish exact movement rules, turn phases, spell limits, or a full set of combat mechanics.

How is it different from a conventional digital card game?

Comparison What is established about Argentum Age
Primary tactical emphasis Choosing creature positions on a board, rather than relying only on hand or lane choices, according to the developer listing.
Control after summoning Creatures act independently; spells can influence their behavior, according to the developer listing.
Game modes LinuxLinks reported a single-player campaign and multiplayer in an overview published October 27, 2023. Those are historical secondary-source claims, not confirmation of modes in the current build.
Access and development The developer listing calls the game beta and in development. The project README says it is in closed beta on Steam and describes development as “a bit stalled” during a transition from Anura to Unity. The README may not reflect current activity.

This is a high-level comparison of the stated design, not a detailed rules comparison with other card games. The available sources do not establish a current feature list or enough rules to compare specific mechanics.

How can you play Argentum Age?

Check the current DMLabs itch.io listing before downloading. It labels the game beta and in development, and its platform information is inconsistent: the summary lists Windows and Linux, while the download entries include Windows, Mac, and Linux. Confirm that a build for your system is currently available on the listing.

Because the repository also notes a development transition and may lag behind activity, check its current instructions rather than assuming that route or status is unchanged.

Is Argentum Age open source or pay-to-win?

The developer listing describes Argentum Age as open source and designed to be moddable. It also says the team is committed to avoiding pay-to-win elements. These are developer-stated goals; they do not independently establish the current monetization model, the extent of mod support, or what is available in a particular beta build.
