Arnis can generate a Minecraft Bedrock world from a selected real-world area. It uses OpenStreetMap and elevation data to build a Minecraft representation of geography, terrain and mapped buildings. Choose an area and a target world in the app, configure any available generation options, and start the conversion. The result reflects its source data and settings; it is not a guaranteed exact replica.
What Arnis does—and what it can generate
Arnis is a free, open-source application for converting geographic information into Minecraft worlds. Its official project lists support for Minecraft Java Edition, Bedrock Edition and Luanti. The generator uses OpenStreetMap data and elevation data to represent geography, topography and architecture. Check the official Arnis repository for current capabilities and compatibility details.

How closely a world resembles its real location depends on the available map and elevation data as well as the choices made during generation. A place with incomplete source data may not include every structure or feature, and the output should be treated as a generated interpretation rather than a survey-quality copy.
How to make a Bedrock world from a real location
- Get Arnis from an official source. Use the Arnis project website or the official GitHub repository. The README warns against downloading Arnis from other websites: “Download Arnis only from the official source https://arnismc.com or https://github.com/louis-e/arnis/.”
- Open the application and choose an area. Select the real-world location you want on Arnis’s map. The area’s available geographic and elevation data will shape what the generator can build.
- Select a Minecraft world as the destination. Choose the world to receive the generated area, following the options shown in the version you downloaded.
- Adjust optional settings, if needed. The README describes options including world scale, spawn point and building interior generation. Their availability and effect can depend on the current release, so check the app’s controls and repository documentation.
- Start generation, then open the result in Bedrock Edition. Use a compatible Minecraft Bedrock game on your platform to play the exported world. Check the current game listing and compatibility details for that platform before purchasing or installing.
What to know about Bedrock support
The official repository currently lists Bedrock Edition as a supported output format alongside Java Edition and Luanti. Compatibility can change as Arnis and Minecraft are updated, so use the repository’s current instructions rather than relying on older reports or assuming every release supports the same game versions.

Hackaday reported on January 17, 2026, that Arnis had added Bedrock support and improved elevation generation using NASA data. That dated report provides context, but the project’s current repository is the better place to confirm present-day support.

No. Arnis’s project website says it is not an official Minecraft product and is not associated with Mojang or Microsoft. It is a separate community project, so use Arnis’s own official sources for its downloads and documentation.
