Activision later announced and released Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 on July 11, 2025. Jones’s remark was not an official Activision announcement.
What Tyshawn Jones said
In an interview on Power 105.1 FM, professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones said: “I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out so that’s cool,” followed by, “They got a new one they remastering so that’s about to come out. I was in the last one.” Insider Gaming reported and transcribed the remarks on February 18, 2025 (Insider Gaming’s report).
Jones did not identify a game, announce a release date, or name platforms. At the time, the idea that he meant Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was an inference, not something established by his interview.
What was known before the interview
In September 2024, Tony Hawk said he had been talking with Activision again and that “we’re working on something,” while adding that he could not share more. His comments indicated activity between Hawk and the publisher but did not confirm a particular game or release (NME’s report).

Activision released Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 on July 11, 2025. The publisher describes it as a next-generation remake. Its official materials list new parks, an updated skater roster, additional tricks, cross-platform multiplayer, upgraded park-creation tools, and New Game+ (Activision’s FAQ).
Activision’s launch announcement says the game includes nineteen parks and expanded Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater features, alongside dozens of skaters and tricks (Activision’s launch announcement).

In hindsight, the title that followed Jones’s comment was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4. But the interview alone did not establish that identification, and the available statements do not show precisely what Jones knew or whether he was authorized to announce anything. The confirmed details—the title, release date, platforms, and features—come from Activision’s later materials, not from Jones’s remark.
