Which boss did the patch nerf?
The August 2024 report identified Yaoguai King Captain Wise-Voice as the boss affected by version 1.0.8.14860. Destructoid reported that Game Science’s patch notes said the boss’s stats had been “slightly reduced,” while noting that the developers did not expand on the details. What changed—and what is unknown?
The documented change is qualitative: a slight reduction to Captain Wise-Voice’s stats. The report does not identify which stats changed or give a numerical amount, so there is no supported before-and-after comparison for the boss’s health, damage, defense, or other values.
Was this really the latest patch?
Only in the context of the 2024 report. The developer’s Steam announcement archive lists version 1.0.21.23831, updated January 14, 2026, above the older patch history. Its visible notes describe bug fixes and do not mention a Captain Wise-Voice balance change.

The archive also lists version 1.0.20.22023, dated October 16, 2025. Its “Experience Improvements” section says: “Improved the combat experience against Yaoguai King ‘Giant Shigandang’.” That is a different boss, and the note does not describe a Captain Wise-Voice nerf.
What this means for players
The available notes establish that Captain Wise-Voice received a reported stat reduction in patch 1.0.8.14860, but they do not establish how large the change was or precisely how it altered the fight. The later archive entries show that the August 2024 update is not the current latest patch; they do not document a later Captain Wise-Voice balance adjustment.
