Bloodborne 2 has not been announced. The “hype intensifies” chatter traces to fans speculating that an ominous statue teased for The Game Awards might point to a Bloodborne reveal. A writer who made that connection later clarified it was his own speculation, not inside information or a report of an upcoming announcement.
What sparked the Bloodborne 2 speculation?
A December 2025 headline tied fan hopes for Bloodborne 2 to an ominous desert statue teased by Geoff Keighley and The Game Awards. The connection spread as speculation, not confirmation. Destructoid senior staff writer Scott Duwe later said that associating the tease with familiar Bloodborne 2 fan art was his own guess; he had no information that Bloodborne news was coming. Duwe’s correction is the clearest account of how that particular rumor took shape.

A striking teaser, fan art, or a surge of online discussion can fuel expectations, but none establishes that a sequel is being made. As of the September 2026 status roundup, there is no confirmed Bloodborne 2 announcement, trailer, platform, or price. The roundup reports the status; it is not an announcement from Sony or FromSoftware.
What is confirmed about Bloodborne 2?
There is no official sequel announcement to point to. No release window, preorder, confirmed edition, or platform has been established. Treat claims about development or a reveal as rumor unless Sony or FromSoftware confirms them directly.
#1 Best Overall
- Bloodborne Game of The Year
- If Bloodborne needs to be summed up, then the prevalent themes would be: exploring the fearsome unknown, intense life-and-death battles, and a familiar yet uniquely new online experience
- From the makers of the infamous Souls series, From Software's PS4 exclusive will attempt to take the tried and tested formula of giving players a sense of achievement to the next stage - especially when Miyazaki, the original creator of the Souls series is back at the helm
- What is promised is a harrowing experience like no other, and fans of tension, discovery, and straight up fun will sure to be excited to play Bloodborne
- If you have played the previous Souls games, then this one is a definite must buy
The original Bloodborne is a separate, confirmed game: Sony Interactive Entertainment published it for PS4 on March 24, 2015. PlayStation describes its setting as the ancient city of Yharnam, where a spreading illness drives the hunt, and highlights strategic action combat, guns, transforming weapons, and Chalice Dungeons. The listing says it is playable on PS5 through compatibility, with some PS4 features potentially absent. See the official PlayStation listing.
Do Miyazaki’s comments mean a sequel or PC port is coming?
No. In a 2024 PC Gamer interview, Bloodborne creator and FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki said he was not opposed to more players experiencing the game. He also explained that FromSoftware does not own the IP and that he was not in a position to speak for it. His openness is not an announcement of a sequel, PC port, or remaster. Is The Duskbloods Bloodborne 2?
No. The Duskbloods is a separate game, not an announced continuation of Bloodborne. Nintendo describes it as a PvPvE online multiplayer title directed by Miyazaki, planned for release on Switch 2 in 2026. The interview does not identify it as part of the Bloodborne series. Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice interview explains its multiplayer focus.
How is a remake rumor different from a sequel announcement?
A remake would revisit the existing game; a sequel would be a new installment. GameSpot, citing Bloomberg reporting, said Bluepoint pitched a Bloodborne remake in early 2025 and that FromSoftware reportedly rejected the proposal. GameSpot also noted that Sony and FromSoftware had not officially confirmed those details. That reported pitch is not confirmation of a remake—and does not establish that Bloodborne 2 is in development. Read GameSpot’s account.

- A Terrifying New World: Journey to a horror-filled gothic city where deranged mobs and nightmarish creatures lurk around every corner.
- Strategic Action Combat: Armed with a unique arsenal of weaponry, including guns and saw cleavers, you'll need wits, strategy and reflexes to take down the agile and intelligent enemies that guard the city's dark secrets.
- A New Generation of Action RPG: Stunningly detailed gothic environments, atmospheric lighting, and advanced new online experiences showcase the power and prowess of PlayStation 4.
What can you play while waiting?
If you want the actual Bloodborne experience, the confirmed option is the 2015 PS4 original, which PlayStation says is also playable on PS5 through compatibility. Search for Bloodborne PS4 game if you are looking for the original; that refers to the existing game, not a sequel.
If you are interested in Miyazaki’s separate project, The Duskbloods is a different choice: a planned Switch 2 PvPvE online game, not a substitute sequel set in the confirmed Bloodborne continuity. There are no announced Bloodborne 2 platforms, editions, or release dates to compare.
