As of October 8, 2026, Roberts Space Industries (RSI) lists Windows PC requirements for Star Citizen, not PS5 support. Its documented way to play uses an RSI account, a Game Package, and the RSI Launcher on PC.
Is Star Citizen available on PS5?
RSI’s current system requirements describe hardware for running Star Citizen on a PC and specify Windows. They do not list PS5 as a supported platform. That means you should not expect to download and play an official PS5 version based on the current published requirements.
This is a statement about documented support, not a claim that PS5 hardware is technically incapable of running the game. RSI’s requirements do not compare PS5 hardware with PC hardware or report a PS5 test, and they do not establish whether a console version might be announced in the future.
What do you need to play Star Citizen?
RSI’s minimum and recommended configurations are for Windows PCs. The requirements page was updated September 23, 2026, and RSI notes that specifications may change as development continues.

These are RSI’s published PC specifications, not a performance test or a frame-rate guarantee. RSI says actual performance, frame rates, and stability can vary with location in the game, server population, background applications, and network conditions. Check the current requirements before choosing hardware, since RSI says they may change.

- Download and install the RSI Launcher.
- Use the launcher to install Star Citizen.
Can an adapter or streaming service make it run on PS5?
The cited RSI documentation establishes the PC launcher route; it does not establish that an adapter, PS5 accessory, or streaming service can run Star Citizen on the console. Do not treat those options as a supported PS5 workaround. The documented alternative for playing Star Citizen is a Windows PC that meets the full current requirements.
