Generally, no: ordinary glass blocks obstruct mob line of sight in Minecraft, even though players can see through them. A mob facing you through glass may look as if it has spotted you, but that appearance alone does not show that it detected or targeted you.
Why a mob can look at you through glass
Glass is rendered as transparent to the player, while the Minecraft Wiki’s glass reference says mobs treat it as opaque for line of sight (Minecraft Wiki: Glass). A mob’s apparent gaze through a pane or block is therefore not reliable evidence that it can see or target you through it.

What the line-of-sight rule does—and does not—establish
Microsoft’s Bedrock creator documentation describes a configurable minecraft:looked_at entity component. It includes a line_of_sight_obstruction_type setting, whose default is collision, and says at least one configured look-at location must have an unobstructed line of sight for the entity to count as looked at (Microsoft Learn: minecraft:looked_at, updated March 5, 2026). This illustrates how obstruction checks can be configured for Bedrock entities; it is not a complete account of every built-in mob’s targeting behavior.
The general glass rule should not be treated as a guarantee for every mob, edition, game version, mod, or add-on. The available references do not provide a full comparison across those cases.

Glass panes, stained glass, and tinted glass are related block types, but the cited material does not verify each variant’s behavior across every edition. Avoid assuming that every pane or glass variant works identically for every mob.
