There are two different Riko Tanemura builds to distinguish: base Wind Riko is an Elucidator built around knockdowns and debuffs, while Tempest Riko is a Wind Strategist who buffs allies. For base Wind, Prydwen’s guide recommends reaching 160 Speed to cap Talent 1. Tempest’s official announcement instead highlights critical-focused ally buffs, her exclusive Windplum Dance weapon, and Assassin or Sweeper teammates.

Which Riko build are you looking for?

Version Role Build focus Weapon guidance
Base Wind Riko Elucidator focused on knockdowns, defense and damage-taken debuffs, and support Reach the guide-recommended 160 Speed threshold for Talent 1; prioritize Speed and critical stats Check the current character guide and your in-game options; the cited guide’s recommendations can change
Tempest Riko Wind Strategist who buffs allies’ Attack, critical rate, and critical damage Support allies with critical-focused buffs; detailed skill mechanics are version-sensitive Officially named exclusive five-star weapon: Windplum Dance; Prydwen lists four-star Sparrow’s Leap as an alternative

These are different versions with different jobs, not interchangeable builds. The 160 Speed target applies to the base Wind guide, not a universal requirement for every Riko.

How to build base Wind Riko

Prioritize Speed, then critical stats

Prydwen describes base Wind Riko as an Elucidator who contributes knockdowns, defense and damage-taken debuffs, and other support. Its character guide says 160 Speed is needed to cap Talent 1 and displays Speed and critical stats among the priorities. Treat 160 as a guide recommendation and practical target, not an official developer rule; the most useful optimization can vary with game version, content, and your roster. See Prydwen’s current base Wind Riko guide.

Check the live guide before assigning Revelation cards

Specific slot-by-slot Revelation card prescriptions are not established here. The guide’s recommendation fields are maintained and can change, so check its current advice alongside Riko’s in-game stats rather than relying on a fixed card list.

How Tempest Riko works as a support

The official Persona 5: The Phantom X announcement identifies Tempest Riko as a five-star Wind Strategist and says she buffs allies’ Attack, critical rate, and critical damage. It recommends pairing her with Assassin or Sweeper allies. This is a broad team-building direction, not a claim that one fixed lineup is best for every encounter. Read the official P5X announcement.

Weapon options

The same official announcement names five-star Windplum Dance as Tempest Riko’s exclusive weapon and says it adds critical damage and damage buffs. Prydwen lists Windplum Dance as her five-star signature and Sparrow’s Leap as a four-star option. The announcement is the primary source for the signature weapon; the alternative comes from Prydwen’s guide. Check Prydwen’s Tempest Riko page.

Use skill details cautiously

Prydwen’s Tempest page says several of her effects scale with her critical multiplier, but it also warns that the skill text was translated from Chinese and may be updated with official English localization. Exact percentages and mechanics should therefore be checked against the live guide and in-game version rather than treated as settled official wording. The page also does not yet provide filled-in Tempest build and team recommendations.

Is Tempest Riko currently available?

No: the official announcement’s listed contract period ran from after maintenance on February 5, 2026, through 10:59 PM UTC on March 4, 2026, and has ended. The notice says Tempest Riko and Windplum Dance may return through other opportunities, but it does not establish a current rerun. Check the in-game contract screen for availability in your region.
