That is ProSettings’ dated editorial pick, not proof that it beat every alternative in a controlled test. If you’re shopping now, treat it as a historical recommendation and choose based on the frame rate your PC can sustain, the monitor’s measured motion performance, and current local availability.
What was ProSettings’ best Fortnite monitor for 2024?
ProSettings’ selection was the Alienware AW2518H, listed as a 24.5-inch, 1920×1080 monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate. Its “#1” label answers the historical 2024 question, but it should be understood as that guide’s pick—not a universal ranking established by a Fortnite-specific head-to-head lab test.
ProSettings’ guide was last updated October 5, 2026, and reports a sample of 339 Fortnite players. In that sample, ZOWIE accounted for 31.56% of monitor brands and Alienware for 30.38%. Those figures describe the equipment of players counted by the guide; they do not show that one brand or model performs better, nor do they establish what most Fortnite players use overall. See ProSettings’ Fortnite monitor guide.
Should you buy the AW2518H now?
Only if the exact model is available locally at a price and with a warranty that make sense to you. The 2024 label does not establish present-day stock, price, or regional specification. Before buying an older model, verify the exact name and revision, supported refresh rate at your chosen resolution, input ports, warranty, and return policy.

If you’re comparing it with a 360Hz display, make the decision around your actual Fortnite performance rather than the larger number alone. A 360Hz monitor can be a fit for a competitive player whose PC can deliver high, stable frame rates and who values the additional refresh headroom. A 240Hz option may be the more practical choice if your system cannot feed the higher rate consistently, or if the alternative costs more without improving the rest of the experience.
240Hz or 360Hz: which suits your setup?
| Choice | What it offers | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| 240Hz | A high-refresh target exemplified by the Alienware AW2518H, which ProSettings selected for its 2024 guide. | Whether your PC can sustain frame rates near the refresh rate in demanding matches, along with the monitor’s motion handling, input lag, and current condition or availability. |
| 360Hz | A higher refresh ceiling, illustrated by the 24.5-inch, 1080p ASUS ROG Swift PG259QN and the ZOWIE XL2566K. | Whether the game, GPU, CPU, connection, and monitor mode can deliver stable high frame rates. A higher ceiling alone does not guarantee smoother play or better results. |
Refresh rate and game FPS are related but not identical: the monitor describes how often it can refresh its image, while FPS describes how many frames the game renders. Epic Games says V-Sync matches Fortnite FPS to the display’s refresh rate; with V-Sync disabled, players can set a different frame-rate limit. Its support page currently lists 360 FPS as the highest in-game limit, but settings can change, so check the options in your own Fortnite build. Epic also warns that manual changes may cause stuttering or FPS drops. Epic Games Support: How to adjust Fortnite FPS.

For the XL2566K specifically, BenQ ZOWIE says a smooth 360Hz experience requires a game that supports 360 FPS, suitable hardware and DisplayPort 1.4, plus stable frame delivery—even during intense gameplay. The manufacturer cautions that without those conditions, the experience may be worse than playing on a 240Hz monitor. This is ZOWIE’s model-specific setup guidance, not an independent benchmark. Its FAQ also says DyAc+ and Adaptive-Sync cannot be used simultaneously. BenQ ZOWIE XL2566K FAQ.
How to compare Fortnite monitors beyond the refresh-rate number
- Stable FPS in real matches: Look at the frame rates your PC sustains in demanding play, not just a peak or menu reading. The useful target depends on your system and the refresh mode you plan to use.
- Motion handling: Compare independent tests of response time, blur, and overshoot. Two monitors with the same stated refresh rate can look different in motion.
- Input lag: Check measurements at the refresh rate you expect to use. Monitor delay is only one part of total system latency.
- Resolution and PC load: 1080p can make sense when competitive frame rate is the priority. Higher resolution can show more detail, but asks more of the PC if you want to maintain the same frame rate.
- Panel and everyday use: TN, IPS, and OLED panels involve different trade-offs in motion, image quality, viewing angles, and room conditions. Choose for how you use the screen, not the panel label alone.
- Ports and supported modes: Confirm that the monitor’s input, your GPU output, and the cable support the refresh rate at the resolution you intend to use. A connection or mode limit can prevent the monitor from running at its advertised maximum.
- Price, availability, and warranty: Check these for your region and the exact model before deciding. The 2024 pick does not establish current retail availability.
RTINGS notes that higher refresh rates have diminishing returns and that results depend on the computer and monitor connection. That is why a 360Hz label should be treated as a capability, not a promise that every setup will benefit equally. RTINGS: What is refresh rate?

What are the documented 360Hz alternatives?
ASUS ROG Swift PG259QN
ASUS’s US specifications list the PG259QN as a 24.5-inch, 1920×1080 Fast IPS monitor with 1ms GTG response time, DisplayPort 1.4, and a vertical signal frequency up to 360Hz. These are listed specifications, not a guarantee of measured motion performance in every mode. ASUS also describes a separate model, the PG259QNR, as suitable for Fortnite and lists an integrated NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer on that model. Do not assume the PG259QNR’s features apply to the PG259QN. Check the exact variant and regional specifications before comparing them. ASUS ROG Swift PG259QN specifications.
BenQ ZOWIE XL2566K
The XL2566K is another 360Hz esports option, but its refresh rate is useful only if the system can provide stable high frame rates and the connection supports the intended mode. Follow ZOWIE’s setup guidance above and verify the precise regional model page and connection requirements for the unit you are considering.

How to make the decision
- Check your system’s Fortnite performance. Use the frame-rate limit and V-Sync settings that suit your play, then assess stability in demanding matches rather than relying on the monitor’s advertised refresh rate.
- Choose a realistic refresh target. Compare 240Hz and 360Hz against the FPS your PC can maintain. If stable output is not there, prioritize a well-performing 240Hz monitor over an unused 360Hz ceiling.
- Compare tested performance and fit. Review motion handling and input lag at your intended refresh rate, then balance resolution, panel preferences, ports, and PC capability.
- Verify the purchase details. Confirm exact model and regional specification, supported modes, local availability, price, warranty, and return terms before ordering.
