For a Team Trials-oriented Long build, Game8 recommends 1200 Speed, 1000 Stamina, 1000 Power, 500 Guts, and 800 Wit. Treat those as guide targets—not required minimums—and tailor skills and support cards to the race, scenario, and cards you own.
Why Late Surger is the natural running style
Grass Wonder’s unique skill, Superior Heal, restores a large amount of endurance when she is overtaken while toward the back of the pack mid-race. A Late Surger setup makes that situation more compatible with her race plan than a front-running style. Game8’s guide says the skill’s placement condition is fifth or worse in Team Trials and fourth or worse in Champion’s Meeting when she is overtaken mid-race; activation is conditional, not guaranteed. Game8’s Saintly Jade Cleric Grass Wonder guide and the Umamusu Wiki character entry describe the skill and its recovery effect.
Her aptitudes reinforce this choice: Late Surger is A, as is Long, while Front is F and End is F. Game8 recommends raising Late Surger aptitude from A to S through inheritance for a dedicated Late Surger build. Inheritance can also help if you want to use her in Medium races, where her aptitude is B; Sprint and Dirt are both G and Mile is A. Check the target race before choosing inheritance factors.

These are recommendations from Game8’s guide, updated April 6, 2026, for a Team Trials-oriented Long build—not universal thresholds or guaranteed winning stats. Game8 explicitly allows lower targets for career-clear runs. Scenario, inheritance, race distance, and game version can change what is practical. Her 15% Stamina and 15% Wit growth bonuses make those stats more efficient to train; she has no listed growth bonus in Speed, Power, or Guts. The Umamusu Wiki lists her three-star initial stats as 91 Speed, 83 Stamina, 97 Power, 79 Guts, and 100 Wit; these are starting values, not targets.
Best skills for Saintly Jade Cleric Grass Wonder
Build around race-compatible late-race speed and acceleration skills that help a Late Surger pass runners, then add recovery if the distance and stamina plan call for it. Game8’s recommended skill list includes the following options; it is not a checklist to purchase in full. Confirm each skill’s distance, running-style, and activation conditions in the current game before spending points.

Late-race speed and overtaking
- Ramp Up, Outer Swell, Professor of Curvature, Nimble Navigator, and On Your Left! are among the skills Game8 specifically discusses for late-race acceleration or speed and overtaking.
- Other skills on its recommended list are Long Corners ◯, Uma Stan, Late Surger Corners ◯, Slipstream, Playtime’s Over!, and Fast and Furious. Their value depends on whether their conditions fit your race and build.
Recovery skills
For its Long-oriented build, Game8 recommends one gold recovery skill alongside Superior Heal. Swinging Maestro is its preferred option when available; Cooldown is an alternative if Swinging Maestro hints do not appear. Since Superior Heal itself has a placement condition, choose recovery based on the target distance and whether the rest of the build can meet its stamina needs.
Innate and unlockable skills
The character database lists Pace Strategy, Deep Breaths, and A Small Breather among her innate skills. Listed potential unlocks include Trick (Front), Cooldown, Late Surger Savvy ◯, and Relax. For a Long runner in Team Trials, Game8 specifically recommends Potential level 3 for Cooldown if using it as the recovery option. Check the skill’s current in-game details and conditions before investing.

How to choose support cards
The available character-specific guide does not establish a complete named best-in-slot deck. Instead, choose cards to cover the build’s stat needs and provide useful skill hints through friendship training. For its Trackblazer (MANT) deck, Game8 recommends at least 50% Race Bonus; that is a recommendation for that scenario and deck approach, not a universal requirement for every scenario.
- Stat coverage: Select cards that help you reach the needed Speed, Stamina, and Power while accounting for Grass Wonder’s Stamina and Wit growth bonuses.
- Training output: Compare friendship-training value and how reliably a card supports the stats your run lacks.
- Race Bonus: If following the Trackblazer (MANT) approach, total the deck’s Race Bonus and compare it with Game8’s 50% recommendation.
- Skill hints: Favor useful, race-compatible Late Surger, Long-distance, or recovery hints rather than collecting skills that do not fit the target race.
Game8’s card pages identify Grass Wonder (Fairest Fleur) as an SSR Guts support card and Grass Wonder (Tracen Academy) as an R Guts support card. Those classifications alone do not establish that either card is optimal for training Saintly Jade Cleric Grass Wonder. Adjust the build to the race and mode
- Team Trials, Long: Use the guide’s stat line as a planning baseline, aim to improve Late Surger aptitude through inheritance, and consider one suitable gold recovery option alongside Superior Heal.
- Career clear: You can aim below the Team Trials baseline; prioritize a workable distance-specific stamina plan and skills that activate in your races.
- Champion’s Meeting: Superior Heal’s placement condition differs from Team Trials, so consider whether your race plan is likely to put her in the required position when overtaken.
- Medium: Her aptitude is B, so inheritance may help if you plan to focus on this distance. Reassess recovery and skill conditions rather than carrying over a Long build unchanged.
