Medium is a sound alternative if you plan for its higher endurance needs with Stamina training, inheritance, or recovery skills. These recommendations concern that specific Gold City version; her ratings and the live card pool may differ by version, region, scenario, and mode.
Should you build Gold City for Mile or Medium?
The fan database lists Authentic / 1928 Gold City at Turf A, Dirt D; Short F, Mile A, Medium B, Long B; and Front F, Pace A, Late A, End F. Her growth bonuses are Power +10% and Guts +20%. These ratings make Mile the most straightforward focus, while her Pace and Late aptitudes support two viable styles. Check the listed aptitude entry before applying this plan to another Gold City version.
Mile: the default plan
Mile A is her strongest listed distance aptitude. Prioritize Speed, then Power, while using the remaining training and deck slots to improve Wit or cover specific skill needs. You can generally devote less effort to Stamina than you would for Medium, though the race, scenario and skills you use still matter.
Medium: viable with endurance coverage
Medium B can work when inheritance, training and recovery skills give her enough endurance. The Gold City guide recommends roughly 450–500 Stamina before longer Medium races as a safety checkpoint; it is a guide-specific suggestion, not a universal game requirement. Avoid treating Long B as a reason to make Long her default: its Stamina demands compete with investment in her core stats. The Gold City build guide makes Mile its baseline and Medium its alternative.

Which stats should Gold City prioritize?
Speed is the central training priority for either distance. After that, shape the build around the race length and running style rather than chasing a fixed stat formula.
- Speed: Your primary target. It supports the basic plan for both Mile and Medium.
- Power: Your next priority for acceleration, passing and holding position. It is particularly useful for a Pace or Late plan.
- Wit (Wisdom): Supports skill activation and positioning; give it more attention when building around a rear position.
- Stamina: Keep it leaner for Mile if the build can sustain the race. For Medium, add Stamina through training or inheritance, or use dependable recovery coverage.
- Guts: Do not make it the main focus of this plan. Her +20% growth bonus and card effects may raise it along the way.
The Gold City guide offers these illustrative combined Mile/Medium target ranges: Speed 900–1100+, Stamina 550–700, Power 700–900, Guts 300–450 and Wisdom 400–600. They are secondary-source targets, not official requirements, and can vary with scenario, mode, available cards and skill effects. For Mile, consider shifting some Stamina investment into Power or Wit; for Medium, make sure endurance is covered.

What support-card setup works well?
Build the deck around training value and the chosen distance, not rarity alone. The card balances below are example arrangements from the Gold City guide, not a proven universal optimum.
| Plan | Example balance | Why use it |
|---|---|---|
| Mile | 3 Speed, 2 Power, 1 flexible | Emphasizes Speed and acceleration; use the flexible slot for Wit or a useful skill or recovery need. |
| Medium | 3 Speed, 1 Power, 1 Stamina, 1 flexible | Keeps Speed central while adding endurance support. |
| Beginner-friendly | 2 Speed, 2 Power, 1 Stamina, 1 Friend or Wisdom | Offers a less specialized balance when the available card pool is limited. |
A well-leveled SR with useful hints and strong training value may serve you better than an SSR with few limit breaks. Compare card level, training and friendship performance, relevant hints, and whether the skills suit your distance and style. The support-card guide likewise emphasizes general training value and hints that fit the trainee.

- Power: Vodka SSR or El Condor Pasa SSR.
- Medium Stamina or recovery: Super Creek SSR; Mayano Top Gun SR as a lower-cost option.
- Wit: Fine Motion SSR when you want more skill activation and positioning support.
- Friend or training comfort: Tazuna Hayakawa SSR for training stability and condition or energy support.

Which skills should you choose?
Choose skills for the distance and running style you actually intend to race. Favor relevant Mile or Medium effects, then look for late-race speed or acceleration and positioning that fit Pace or Late. If Medium Stamina is tight, include a recovery skill you can rely on rather than assuming raw stats alone will solve the problem.

The Gold City guide names Corner Recovery and Swinging Maestro among recovery options to consider. Treat those as candidates, not automatic picks: check the in-game descriptions, conditions and availability in your version. The sources reviewed do not establish Gold City’s exact unique-skill activation text or every skill condition, so consult the specific trainee’s in-game skill description instead of assuming a trigger.
Cygames’ official game overview advises choosing training and skills suited to the trainee, checking their performance in races, and using support cards that affect development and provide skill hints. That is a useful fit-first rule: a high-rarity skill is not automatically right if its conditions do not match your build.

How to adapt the build to your cards and race plan
- Confirm the trainee: Check that you are using Authentic / 1928 Gold City and verify her aptitude in your game version.
- Pick the distance: Start with Mile for the simpler A-aptitude plan. Choose Medium B when you can support its Stamina and recovery needs.
- Choose Pace or Late: Both are A for this listed version. Let the style determine which positioning, acceleration and Wit support you value.
- Build around the cards you own: Compare levels, limit breaks, training value and matching skill hints. Use an SR with useful performance if it fits better than a low-limit-break SSR.
- Review race performance: Adjust Stamina, recovery and positioning support if the build struggles in actual races; skill usefulness depends on its conditions and your setup.
Because card rankings and builds are scenario-, mode- and region-dependent, recheck current in-game availability and descriptions when the live game changes.
