In Flowey’s Section 1 battle in the Ruins, deplete his HP and choose Spare repeatedly; the community battle reference describes ten Spare selections as the sequence that makes him leave the Ruins. Choosing Fight instead kills him. Sparing him also permanently ends your chance to complete the Obliteration Route.
How to spare Flowey
- Deplete Flowey’s HP during the battle.

- During the sequence, Flowey traps the SOUL in a small box and fills the area with bullets. Graze the bullets to build TP, which Susie can spend on Rude Buster. Flowey then leaves the Ruins. (DELTATRAVELER Wiki: Flowey)
What happens if you spare Flowey?
Flowey leaves the Ruins after the described spare sequence. If you choose Fight instead, he dies after his final dialogue. (DELTATRAVELER Wiki: Flowey)
Does sparing Flowey end the Obliteration Route?
Yes. Sparing Flowey aborts the Obliteration Route. The route reference says sparing any enemy at any point permanently aborts it, and specifically identifies Flowey as a route-aborting spare. If completing Obliteration is your goal, do not spare him. (DELTATRAVELER Wiki: Obliteration Route)
Does the same advice apply in Hard Mode?
The available Hard Mode reference confirms that sparing Flowey also aborts the Obliteration Route there. It does not establish that every battle detail or action in the normal-mode spare sequence is identical, so treat the ten-input sequence and encounter narration above as specific to the community description of the standard battle.
