The claim is about player activity and Game Pass subscriber additions. It does not establish that Black Ops 6 sold more paid copies than every earlier Call of Duty game. Activision later made a separate claim about Black Ops 6’s first 30 days. It called the game its biggest Call of Duty title by total players, total hours played, and total multiplayer matches, without publishing numeric totals in the reporting reviewed here. Activision lists October 25, 2024 as the release date and names Treyarch and Raven Software as the developers. Its product page lists PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Microsoft PC Store, Steam, Battle.net, and Game Pass. Activision’s Black Ops 6 product page.

Xbox had announced on May 28, 2024 that Game Pass members would be able to play Black Ops 6 on day one. That access is important context for interpreting the player record: people playing the game were not necessarily buying a separate copy.
