The smallest chip is already in Blackbridge Grotto; the other two are hidden in the Entrance Hall and on the West Path. You need a hammer and a shovel to collect those.
Where are all three Microchips?
The chips come in three sizes, and each has a specific location. The middle chip is inside a vase; the largest is buried near a bridge.

- Smallest chip — Blackbridge Grotto: Pick it up from the holder in the center of the room. This is the first chip and shows that the holder has slots for chips of different sizes.
- Middle-sized chip — Entrance Hall: Find the vase on the west side of the hall—the right side when you are looking outward toward the Grounds. Use a Sledge Hammer or equivalent to break it. Hover over the vase briefly to trigger the interaction; the chip falls to the floor. The other jar contains nothing.
- Largest chip — West Path: Search the ground just to the right of the bridge. Use a Shovel or equivalent, hovering briefly over the spot to trigger the excavation. You collect the chip with the glass jar that held it.
What if a Microchip disappears?
The vase breaking and the excavation at this West Path spot are permanent world changes. If you lose the middle chip before securing it, it returns beside the broken vase the next day. If the largest chip is lost, it returns with its jar to the bridge’s end post. Once you leave a chip in the Blackbridge Grotto holder at day’s end, it stays there across days rather than returning to its original location.
What do the three Microchips unlock?
Blackbridge Grotto: Orindian Ruins
Place all three chips in the Blackbridge Grotto pedestal to open the large door to the Orindian Ruins. The door remains open only while all three chips are inserted; removing one closes it after a brief animation. The activation cutscene does not repeat after the first time. The ruins contain the Throne Room floorplan.

Additional holders
Later in the game, after solving the Sign Puzzle, a holder opens in the Apple Orchard sundial. Placing all three chips there unlocks the Satellite Dish. The Crate Tunnel also has a seventh door that opens when all three chips are placed in its holder. These are additional uses, not requirements for finding the chips.
