Where to get the Borstel Ballista
The Timekeeper is the target for the main farm. You encounter the boss in Upper Dominion during the main story mission “The Timekeeper’s Order,” near the end of the story. Fight the boss and check the loot that drops after the encounter.
How to farm the Timekeeper
- Reach Upper Dominion. Progress the main story until “The Timekeeper’s Order” takes you to the Timekeeper encounter.
- Defeat the Timekeeper. Check the resulting loot for the Borstel Ballista.
- Replay the encounter. After the first fight, use Moxxi’s Big Encore near the arena to replay the boss, if the option is available.
- Repeat and check the loot. The rifle is not guaranteed, and the reviewed sources do not establish a specific number of attempts or drop percentage.
Can you get it from a Wildcard Mission?
Yes, a second route was documented in the official January 2026 update notes: the Wildcard Mission “All Charged Up” listed Borstel Ballista as its Legendary Gear Reward. That record applies to the January 2026 rotation, not necessarily the current one. Check the live in-game Wildcard Mission rotation before pursuing this route.
The update notes say Wildcard Missions feature a guaranteed Legendary drop that can be earned repeatedly. That describes the mission reward system generally; it does not mean every activity or every Timekeeper run guarantees a Borstel Ballista.

What the Borstel Ballista does
The Borstel Ballista is a Legendary Jakobs Sniper Rifle. Its named effect, Propagation, is described as spawning additional projectiles that spiral after the primary shot. The available sources do not establish weapon-specific damage figures or a best-in-slot roll.

Official update notes state that higher Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode levels increase dedicated loot drop levels and increase the chance of dedicated loot dropping. They do not give a Borstel Ballista-specific rate, so this is general progression guidance rather than a guarantee that the rifle will drop.
