Usually, yes: other profiles on a PS5 can play many games and media purchased and downloaded by the account that has enabled Console Sharing and Offline Play on that console. But Sony’s general sharing rule is not a guarantee that every DLC item, season-pass entitlement, virtual currency, or account-linked bonus will work for every profile. Whether a specific add-on is shareable can depend on the content and game.
What PS5 Console Sharing covers—and what it does not guarantee
Sony says that when Console Sharing and Offline Play is enabled, anyone who uses that PS5 can play the account’s purchased and downloaded games and media, including offline. That makes the feature the right starting point for sharing purchased content with another local profile.
However, “games and media” should not be read as a promise that every entitlement inside every game transfers. Sony says season-pass content is linked to the purchasing account, and PlayStation Plus benefits have their own shareable and non-shareable rules. Virtual currency and account-bound bonuses may also be restricted by a game’s terms. Check the particular game or publisher’s official support information if a specific item does not appear for another profile.
Enable sharing on the purchasing account
Console Sharing and Offline Play is configured per purchasing account and can be enabled on one PS5 at a time. On the PS5, sign in with the account that owns the game or add-on, then follow this path:

- Select Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
- Select Enable.
Sony says the feature is automatically allowed on the first PS5 used to sign in. If the account has already enabled it on another console, that console may need to be deactivated before enabling it here. Sony’s instructions for remotely deactivating devices limit the “Deactivate All Devices” action to once every six months.
Download the add-on using the account that bought it
Use the purchasing account to locate and download the add-on from its game library:

- Go to Games home > Game Library > Your Collection.
- Select the game associated with the add-on.
- Open Add-Ons and select Download for the relevant item.
After download, switch to the other profile and launch the game. PlayStation App and PlayStation Store library instructions also place the add-on in the purchasing account’s library, so make sure you are checking the account that owns it.
If another profile cannot use the DLC
Check the basics in this order:
- Confirm ownership: Verify that the signed-in purchasing account bought or otherwise owns the add-on.
- Check sharing: On this PS5, confirm that Console Sharing and Offline Play is enabled for that purchasing account.
- Check installation and compatibility: Confirm the add-on is downloaded and matches the game version, edition, and region where applicable.
- Consider entitlement limits: A season pass or other account-linked content may be usable only by the purchasing account, even when the base game is shared.
- Check licensing and network status: If the game or add-on shows a padlock, Sony identifies licensing or network issues as possible causes. Follow PlayStation’s license-restoration guidance and check network connectivity.
How to think about different content types

The general rule answers whether sharing is possible, not whether a particular publisher has made every add-on available to every profile. For a disputed item, check the official information for that game and add-on rather than assuming the console setting overrides its entitlement rules.
