Season 2 began February 17, 2026; it is now a historical roadmap, not a preview of upcoming content. EA’s announcement covered Battlefield 6 maps and modes, REDSEC content, shared weapons and equipment, vehicles, and Portal updates. Its final-phase date is inconsistent: the heading says April 14, while the description says April 12.
Battlefield 6 Season 2 roadmap at a glance
EA’s Season 2 roadmap said the season would begin February 17 at 4 a.m. Pacific (12 p.m. UTC) and roll out in three phases. The roadmap’s contents list identifies Nightfall as launching March 17. For Hunter/Prey, EA’s page gives two different dates, detailed below.
| Phase | Date stated by EA | Battlefield 6 highlights | REDSEC highlights | Shared additions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Extreme Measures | February 17, 2026; season launch | Contaminated map; VL-7 Strike playlist | Gauntlet: Altered State; Battle Royale: Synthesis | Weapons, a vehicle, launcher, and suppression system |
| Nightfall | March 17, 2026, per the roadmap contents list | Hagental Base; limited-time darkness mode | Gauntlet: Nightfall; Defense Testing Complex 3 | Dirt bike, weapons, attachments, Portal updates, and Bonus Path |
| Hunter/Prey | April 14 in the heading; April 12 in the phase description | Operation Augur limited-time mode | Free Battle Royale Duos as a verified mode | LTV, machete, and Portal experiences |
EA described REDSEC as free-to-play. The roadmap lists content across the game and its modes, but it does not establish that every listed feature had the same unlock or purchase requirements. See EA’s REDSEC page for its overview.
Extreme Measures: Contaminated and VL-7
Battlefield 6 map and mode
At the February 17 season launch, Battlefield 6 received Contaminated, a large map set at a German airbase in mountainous terrain. EA said it supported different combat sizes, land vehicles, and helicopters, and could be played in standard modes as well as the limited-time VL-7 Strike playlist. [EA roadmap]

Hunter/Prey: Operation Augur and the date discrepancy
What EA announced
For the final phase, EA announced Operation Augur, a limited-time Battlefield 6 mode; a Light Tactical Vehicle (LTV); and the KAPOK 14-inch machete. Portal additions included free Battle Royale Duos as a verified REDSEC mode and verified Escalation experiences for Battlefield 6 owners. [EA roadmap]
Why two dates appear
EA’s roadmap heading says Hunter/Prey was “launching April 14,” but the phase description says its content would release April 12, 2026. The page does not resolve the conflict, so neither date should be treated as definitive without qualification.

How to read the roadmap now
Season 2 is no longer a current or upcoming season. EA’s later Season 4 roadmap says Season 4 began July 21, 2026. The Season 2 announcement establishes what EA planned to include; it does not independently verify that every planned feature ultimately shipped exactly as announced.
