EA does not provide a documented in-game cross-play switch for Battlefield 6 on PC. EA’s supported instructions show a cross-play toggle for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A November 2025 report described a PC configuration-file edit, but it is not an EA-supported method and its current operation is unverified. The claim that aim assist is “OP” is player opinion, not a conclusion established by EA’s published settings information.
What cross-play options does Battlefield 6 officially support?
EA says Battlefield 6 cross-play connects PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S players, and is on by default. Its documented setting path is for console players, not PC players.
On PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, open Settings > System > Setup > Cross-play. EA says you cannot change the setting while in a party, server, or matchmaking. Turning cross-play off limits matchmaking to players on the same platform. EA’s FAQ further describes this as a way for console players to opt out of PC cross-play and play with console players only.

What is the reported PC workaround?
A November 2025 PC Gamer report described changing a configuration file at DocumentsBattlefield 6settingssteamPROFSAVE_profile and adding Gstgameplay.CrossPlayEnable 0. This is a reported file edit, not a procedure EA documents or supports. The available information does not verify that it still works in the current game build, or that the reported folder applies to every PC storefront.
That means PC players should distinguish this claim from an official setting: EA’s support instructions do not give PC players a cross-play toggle or endorse the file edit. Game updates can also affect configuration behavior, so do not assume the reported steps will work reliably.

“OP Aim Assist” is a player characterization; the official material cited here does not establish that aim assist is overpowered or quantify an advantage. EA describes Infantry Aim Assist Slowdown as how much the crosshair slows when near enemy targets, and says console players automatically have aim assist.

EA also says it reverted aim-assist values to those players experienced during Open Beta and Battlefield Labs after reviewing player feedback and gameplay data. It documents aim-assist settings as adjustable, but that tuning decision is not a comparative performance study and does not show that aim assist creates a universal advantage over mouse-and-keyboard players.
