For a general Col build in Sword of Convallaria, equip Hidden Thorn as her basic attack, Eerie Footwork as her reaction, and Solitary Blade as her ascension choice. Build around Omen of Death and Wipe Out, with Perfect Assassin as a flexible third skill. The recommended general gear is Void Stab, Maverick’s Cloak, and Verdict of Justice. These are guide recommendations, not official developer guidance.
Col’s recommended build
This setup supports Col’s main job: use a side or back attack to secure a kill, then use her extra action to attack another enemy or retreat before she is exposed. The loadout below follows GameWith’s general build recommendation, last updated September 25, 2026.
| Slot | Recommended choice | When to change it |
|---|---|---|
| Basic attack | Hidden Thorn | It ignores assisting cover, which GameWith identifies as a weakness for Col. Use Critical Strike instead on stages without assisting cover. |
| Reaction | Eerie Footwork | Dodge improves survival, but can sometimes encourage Col to overextend. |
| Ascension | Solitary Blade | GameWith lists it in the general setup but does not provide a separate comparison for this slot. |
| Core skill | Omen of Death | Supports Col’s kill loop with buffs and NRG recovery; its recovery condition may vary with her exclusive ascension skill. |
| Core skill | Wipe Out | Deals high damage, ignores assist, and grants Dodge if it defeats an enemy—useful when Col needs a reliable kill to continue her turn. |
| Flexible skill | Perfect Assassin | Its Alacrity faction aura can help the team. Swap it when the battle or team composition calls for another skill. |
| Weapon | Void Stab | GameWith favors it for Col’s Act Again and Omen of Death loop. Newborn Blade and Ceremonial Knife are general alternatives. |
| Trinket | Maverick’s Cloak | Col often moves away from allies toward the enemy backline. Flying Blade Armguard and Roaring Flint are alternatives. |
| Tarot | Verdict of Justice | Temptation of The Devil and Majesty of the Emperor are also listed. GameWith highlights Devil and Emperor in later battle stages and cautions that Justice’s critical increase may be excessive. |
GameWith recommends Sword + Wand engravings for Col’s movement-based attack and defense bonus. Sword + Cup is an option for damage and lifesteal, while Sword + Pentacle suits her when unharmed. Wand + Wand is also mentioned for characters who can act again. These are in-game engraving combinations.
How to make Col’s extra action work
Col’s Killer Instinct can grant another action when she defeats an enemy with an active attack from the side or behind. A kill is the trigger: if the target survives, the extra action does not activate.
#1 Best Overall
- Approach a target so Col can attack from its side or rear.
- Choose an attack with enough damage to finish that target.
- After the kill triggers the extra action, either attack a second target or move Col out of danger.
GameWith notes that the damage preview does not account for critical hits. A target shown as surviving may still be defeated by a critical, so treat the preview as an estimate rather than a guarantee of the outcome.
Skill priorities and situational choices
GameWith gives top priority to Eerie Footwork, Omen of Death, Hidden Thorn, and Wipe Out. The remaining options depend on what is preventing Col from completing her kill-and-act-again sequence.

- Flurry of Stabs: Costs less NRG than Wipe Out, so it can fit weaker targets or situations with limited NRG recovery.
- Ambush: Can help Col one-shot unharmed enemies.
Why Omen of Death and Wipe Out fit the build
GameWith describes Omen of Death as restoring 2 NRG when Col defeats an enemy and stacking Feverish Beast, which boosts critical rate and grants lifesteal. Because the guide says the NRG recovery condition can vary with Col’s exclusive ascension skill, check the live in-game skill text for the version you are playing.
Wipe Out complements that loop by dealing high damage, ignoring assist, and granting Dodge when it defeats an enemy. Its value is not just damage: a confirmed kill can also enable the extra action Col needs to continue her attack or reposition.

Star progression and character basics
GameWith recommends building Col to 3 stars, then 5 stars. It says the extra action is available every two turns at 3 stars and every turn at 5 stars. These cadence details are that guide’s account of the mechanic; check the live game if a patch has changed Col’s progression.
GameWith lists Col as a Legendary Seeker with movement 5 and associates her with the Alacrity, Papal States, and Drifter factions. Perfect Assassin’s Alacrity aura is therefore a potential team-building consideration, rather than a mandatory choice for every stage.

How strong is Col in the current roster?
Pocket Gamer’s roster tier list, updated October 4, 2026 for version 2.10.0, places Col in S tier. That is one outlet’s broad roster assessment, not a guarantee that she is the best pick in every mode, account, or matchup: her performance still depends on finding a vulnerable target and securing the side or back attack kill that starts her extra-action sequence. See Pocket Gamer’s Sword of Convallaria tier list.
