Prydwen recommends the Virtue Revelation set, Attack main stats on Moon and Sky, and Crit Rate on Star; team her with healing support when possible, especially at low Awareness. These are guide recommendations, not requirements imposed by the game.
How Tropical Motoha’s kit shapes her build
Tropical Motoha is a five-star Bless Sweeper. Her Skill 3, Surf ‘n’ Shine, deals area damage and activates Summer Hype, which raises her critical rate and critical damage and enables bonus damage on her skills. Healing also increases her damage, and five healing events remove the Skill 3 cooldown through her Tropical Heart mechanic. The official announcement says that higher maximum HP increases her Attack. Persona 5: The Phantom X Operations Team’s announcement describes these core mechanics.
Prydwen’s detailed guide explains that Motoha spends HP for additional Bless damage and that healing builds Tropical Heart, which can then be spent to reset Surf ‘n’ Shine. Its detailed skill interpretation is translated from Chinese and flagged for later official-translation updates, so treat its exact skill wording and values as guide information rather than confirmed official localization. Prydwen also notes a Global balance change that removed the hard requirement to bring a healer to access Skill 3: healing is still useful, particularly at low Awareness. Prydwen’s Tropical Motoha build guide provides the build and team recommendations below.
Recommended cards and stats
Revelation cards
Prydwen recommends the Virtue set. Its listed two-piece effect increases Bless damage by 10%; its four-piece effect increases the critical rate of Bless skills by 12% while Motoha’s current HP is at least 50%. That HP threshold makes sustaining her health relevant to the set’s value, alongside the HP she spends when using skills.

- AN EMOTIONAL REVOLUTION -Lead an uprising of the heart in a brand-new storyline that takes place in Persona’s iconic universe.
- BUILD YOUR DREAM SQUAD - Assemble a team of beloved heroes to fight oppressive armies in thrilling turnbased combat
- DYNAMIC COMBAT - Overthrow your enemies with powerful Personas, an assortment of weapons, and wipe them out with style!
For Resolve cards, Prydwen suggests Prudence, which increases Attack based on turn order, or Virtue, which increases damage at the listed HP thresholds. Choose based on the available cards and how reliably your team can keep Motoha at the relevant HP level.
Main stats and substats
- Moon: Attack.
- Sky: Attack.
- Star: Crit Rate. Prydwen notes Crit Mult. on Star as an option with A1.
- Substat priority: Pierce, then Crit Rate, then Crit Mult., following Prydwen’s recommendation.
Skill investment and rotation
Prydwen’s recommended investment order is Skill 3, Skill 1, Highlight, then Skill 2. Its baseline rotation is to use Surf ‘n’ Shine followed by Skill 1. If Awareness and the team’s healing cadence support it, the guide describes a longer loop that uses Skill 3 more frequently. Treat that loop as conditional: the number and timing of healing events determine when Tropical Heart becomes available.

In play, activate Summer Hype with Skill 3, then use Motoha’s damaging skills while its benefits are active. Track both her current HP and incoming heals: healing supports her damage and Tropical Heart, while her HP-spending skills can make it harder to stay above the Virtue set’s 50% threshold. Do not assume every team can provide five healing events quickly enough to reset Skill 3 on demand.
Weapon choices
Colorful Coast is Tropical Motoha’s exclusive five-star weapon. The official announcement says it boosts Bless damage and improves Summer Hype, critical damage, and skill damage. Prydwen lists Bubble Puff Star as a four-star option. The cited official announcement described a contract banner running from February 20, 2026 at 2:30 AM UTC through maintenance on March 5, 2026; that historical window does not establish that either the character or weapon is currently obtainable. Check the in-game contract listings for current availability.

Team options
Marian-centered healing and max HP support
Prydwen’s suggested lineup is Tropical Motoha, Chord, Marian, and Wind. Marian heals and raises allies’ maximum HP, supporting Motoha’s healing-driven kit and HP-to-Attack scaling. Chord can heal through her Talent and provide more Highlight access; Wind supplies Defense Down and can heal through Skill 3. This is the more direct approach when Marian and the other recommended units are available and you want healing support without relying on precise HP manipulation.

Chord, Leon, and Wind
Prydwen also describes a team of Tropical Motoha, Chord, Leon, and Wind. It uses Leon’s HP manipulation and delayed healing to direct Chord’s healing toward Motoha. The guide characterizes this setup as requiring more precise execution, so it is a less straightforward alternative to the Marian-centered team. Consider it when the roster fits and you can manage the timing and targeting of the healing.

Practical build priorities
- Prioritize Bless damage, critical stats, and Attack, while keeping Motoha’s maximum-HP scaling in view.
- Use healing to support her damage and build Tropical Heart; a healer is helpful, not a universal Skill 3 unlock requirement according to Prydwen’s account of the Global balance change.
- Watch her HP when using skills that spend it, especially if relying on Virtue’s four-piece bonus, which Prydwen lists as active at 50% current HP or higher.
- Adjust the rotation to Awareness and the actual healing your team can deliver rather than treating the longer Skill 3 loop as guaranteed.
This guide concerns Tropical Motoha, the Bless variant, not Motoha Arai’s base Electric form. Banner availability and balance can change; the cited official announcement documents a February–March 2026 banner, not a current one.
