Battlestate Games said it banned more than 11,000 Escape from Tarkov cheaters between December 27, 2023, and January 12, 2024. The studio credited support from BattlEye anti-cheat, but its statement did not say BattlEye alone carried out the bans.
What Battlestate announced
On January 12, 2024, Escape from Tarkov’s official account posted: “From December 27 to January 12 with the support of BattlEye anti-cheat more than 11000 cheaters have been banned in Escape from Tarkov.” Insider Gaming reproduced the statement and linked to the original post; its report appeared the following day.
The dates specify a period from December 27, 2023, through January 12, 2024. “Two weeks” is a convenient headline shorthand; the calendar dates are more precise.
What the number does—and does not—show
The figure is Battlestate’s reported total of bans during that interval. The statement credits BattlEye’s support, but does not explain the detection methods, review process, timing of the bans, or how the work was divided between Battlestate and BattlEye. It therefore does not establish that BattlEye alone banned all 11,000-plus accounts or independently prove the anti-cheat system’s effectiveness.

- Exclusive Top Customs design – crafted to closely resemble Tagilla’s in-game appearance with premium attention to detail
- Made from durable hard PVC, NOT 3D printed, using high-quality injection molding for a clean, professional finish
- Perfect for collection and display alongside your Tarkov gear or gaming setup!
- Ideal gift for your squadmates, friends, boyfriends/girlfriends
- A must-have for Tarkov fans. Whether you’re messing around in the hideout or building the ultimate 'Chad' loadout, this collectible hits hard.
Nor is a ban count a measure of cheating prevalence. Without a player-count denominator or information about suspected cases, it cannot show what share of Tarkov players cheated, or whether cheating was becoming more or less common.
Context: Tarkov’s patch 0.14 period
Insider Gaming covered the announcement during Escape from Tarkov’s patch 0.14 period, after the update’s late-2023 release. The outlet noted additions and changes including a map, recoil adjustments, quests, and other features. That timing provides context for the announcement; the available reporting does not connect the update to the bans.

How to distinguish the later 11,000-plus figure
A later message on Battlestate’s official English-language Telegram channel said: “Since October 18, 2025, more than 11000 cheaters have been banned in #EscapefromTarkov.” That is a separate tally with a different start date, not an update to the December 2023–January 2024 interval. The two statements should not be added together or treated as the same measurement.

Insider Gaming reported that Battlestate also published a Google document listing usernames of banned players. That is the outlet’s account of the document’s existence; the cited reporting does not independently validate the list or each individual ban.
