- Readiness: Moon difficulty labels are useful starting points, not guarantees of safety.
- Route cost: A free destination preserves funds; a paid route needs to be weighed against your available cash and run timing.
- Navigation: Terrain, visibility, and weather can affect how reliably the crew reaches and leaves the facility.
- Run goal: Choose a more approachable route for practice, or accept more risk when the crew is prepared for it.

Best early-game choice: Assurance
Assurance is a sensible destination for a new or less experienced crew: the catalogue lists it as Easy and free to route to. Its listed minimum and maximum scrap ranges are higher than Experimentation’s, but a catalogue range is not a promise about what your crew will actually bring back. Use Assurance to learn the route, stay coordinated, and account for the day’s conditions rather than treating it as guaranteed income.

Free moons for crews ready to progress
Offense, March, and Adamance are all listed as Intermediate and free to route to. Their different exteriors and interiors make familiarity and navigation more useful than a simple ranking.

March also received a substantial exterior change: in the developer’s Version 80 announcement dated April 5, 2026, Zeekerss said its exterior was completely reworked. Older route advice for March may therefore no longer match the map.

Paid Hard moons for experienced crews
The catalogue lists Rend, Dine, Titan, and Artifice as Hard moons with route costs. These are options for crews willing to trade funds and greater risk for the higher-risk, higher-reward travel described in the game’s official listing. The available evidence does not establish one paid Hard moon as universally optimal; weigh the route fee against your funds, the forecast, your team’s navigation and extraction ability, and how much risk the run can absorb.
Check weather before committing
Weather changes, so a static tier list cannot capture the conditions on a particular in-game day. The community wiki describes weather as an exterior navigation factor; the interior is unaffected. How current are these moon recommendations?
Lethal Company is in Early Access, and maps can change with updates. Steam’s Version 80 announcement is dated April 5, 2026; it says March’s exterior was completely reworked and that Version 85 was hoped for in the future. That announcement alone does not establish whether a later version has since been released. Check the game’s current version and use up-to-date route knowledge, especially for recently changed areas. The moon catalogue and wiki pages are player-maintained references, so treat their numbers and map details as changeable documentation rather than fixed promises.
