What the December 2024 headline meant
The headline described a planned REDstreams broadcast about Update 2.2. A contemporaneous report said CD Projekt RED community director Marcin Momot clarified that the update would not include PS5 Pro support or New Game+. That was information about the specific 2024 update reveal, not a statement about what the game might receive later. What arrived after Update 2.2
Update 2.3 added gameplay and Photo Mode features
On July 16, 2025, CD Projekt RED announced Update 2.3, which arrived July 17. Its additions included AutoDrive, Delamain taxi rides, new quests and vehicles, and expanded Photo Mode options. CDPR described it as a free update. The announcement listed PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Mac; it also said Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition was launching on Mac alongside the update. For context, CDPR’s December 1, 2023 press-center announcement for the free Update 2.1 listed the NCART metro, Radioport, partner hangouts, replayable races, additional chases, boss-fight improvements, vehicles, motorcycle handling changes, secrets, and accessibility settings. The April 2026 PS5 Pro update was technical, not a content drop
CDPR’s April 8, 2026 announcement described a free PS5 Pro update with three graphics modes:

In March, CDPR clarified that the PS5 Pro update would add no in-game content, saying: “For transparency: this update will not be introducing any new in-game content.” The statement concerned that technical update specifically; it should not be mistaken for a description of Update 2.2 or every future Cyberpunk project. Is Cyberpunk 2077 getting more updates?
The dated announcements establish Update 2.3 as a later feature update and the April 2026 PS5 Pro release as a technical one. A report from March 2026 said CDPR had stated that no further Cyberpunk 2077 DLC or expansions were in the works. The reviewed official material does not establish a new content reveal for Cyberpunk 2077 as of October 2026, so the 2024 “new reveal soon” headline is not evidence of one. [c006]
