EndLife: schedule built-in death events
EndLife is the more direct fit if you want control over when the game’s built-in death events occur. Its CurseForge listing says no packs are required, so the listing does not make Life & Death a prerequisite.

The listing says the mod works with or without Life & Death and requires only the base game. It shows a March 1, 2026 release date, but does not confirm compatibility with updates after that release. Review the creator’s page for current requirements and patch notes before adding it to a save.

What Life & Death adds—and what these mods change
Life & Death is an expansion pack released on October 31, 2024, according to Steam’s listing; EA also presents it as an expansion pack on its official page. The two mods above address separate parts of death-related play: EndLife schedules built-in death events, while Better Mourning changes reactions to a death based on relationships.
Official game updates can also change ghost behavior. For example, EA’s October 22, 2024 update notes describe changes to autonomous ghost behavior during the launch period. Those notes provide context for what the game itself changed; they do not establish either mod’s compatibility with later patches.

Install mods safely and troubleshoot update problems
EA advises players to download mods from trusted sources or creators and says EA and Maxis do not pre-screen, endorse, or support specific mods or custom content. A listing on CurseForge can help you find and manage files, but it is not an EA endorsement or a guarantee that a mod will keep working after a game update.
- Check the creator’s page for the latest version, requirements, and update notes before downloading.
- Back up your saves before experimenting with mods.
- If a problem starts after installation or a game update, remove or disable the newly added files and test the game again before changing other mods.
CurseForge offers a Sims 4 mod hub and describes its manager as a way to update, delete, enable, or disable mods. Its Sims 4 moderation guidelines say mods must comply with EA’s mod policies. Moderation and file management can be useful, but neither substitutes for checking a creator’s latest compatibility information.
