The most useful VR accessories depend on what you want to fix: a more comfortable fit, longer play sessions, wearing glasses inside the headset, active-game grip, easier storage, or a wired PC VR connection. This guide focuses on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S accessories; fit and compatibility are not universal across VR headsets, and some accessories do not transfer between these two Quest models. The 2024 title is historical, so check current availability, price, and the exact model listed before buying.
How to choose an accessory without buying more than you need
Start with the problem, not a list of supposed essentials. If the headset is uncomfortable, compare replacement straps. If you need longer sessions, consider a battery strap. Glasses wearers can look at prescription inserts, while a carrying case, controller grips, facial interface, or Link cable makes sense only for the use it supports.
- Confirm the listing names your exact headset: Quest 3 or Quest 3S.
- For facial interfaces and prescription inserts, check model fit especially carefully; do not assume a Quest 3 accessory fits Quest 3S.
- Consider how a strap or battery changes the headset’s bulk and whether it still fits your case.
- Compare comfort, adjustment, cleanability, and controller access according to your use. These are comparison criteria, not the results of a controlled product test.

Battery straps for longer sessions
A battery-integrated strap can address fit and runtime together, but adds weight and bulk. Meta says its Elite Strap with Battery “delivers double the playtime”; that is Meta’s product claim, not an independently verified comparative battery test. Check the product’s compatibility and whether the added size suits your preferred fit and storage setup. Meta’s developer blog discusses customizable strap add-ons as fit and comfort options.
Prescription lens inserts for glasses wearers
Prescription inserts are an option if you would rather not wear glasses inside the headset. UploadVR’s 2024 roundup named Zenni’s Quest 3 prescription lenses, but that mention does not establish that they suit every prescription or fit another Quest model. Check the insert maker’s prescription support and the exact headset model before ordering. Inserts replace the need to wear glasses inside the headset; do not assume they provide a medical benefit beyond that.

Facial interfaces and face pads for fit or exercise
A replacement interface or pad may suit a different fit preference or a sweaty-use routine. Check how it can be cleaned and whether its materials and construction suit your use. These parts are model-specific: compatibility coverage does not support assuming a Quest 3 interface fits Quest 3S.
Razer announced a facial interface and adjustable head strap system specifically for Meta Quest 3 on May 3, 2024. The announcement establishes the product category and model focus, not a comparative comfort result or current availability. See Razer’s announcement for its description.

Controller grips and straps for active play
Controller grips or active straps are optional if you want a different hold or added retention during movement. Before buying, confirm that the accessory fits Touch Plus controllers, whether installation requires removing a battery door, and whether it blocks battery replacement or access to controls. The available product guidance does not establish that grips improve tracking or performance.
Cases for travel and storage
A dedicated case helps keep a headset and controllers together for travel or storage. Some cases are reported to work with both Quest 3 and Quest 3S, but that does not guarantee a fit with every strap configuration. Check the case’s internal dimensions and compatibility notes, especially if you use an aftermarket strap or battery strap. Link cables for wired PC VR
A Link cable is relevant if you want a wired PC VR connection or need a compatible spare. Compatibility summaries indicate that cables can transfer between Quest 3 and Quest 3S, but that does not mean every USB-C cable supports every PC VR setup. Check the headset maker’s requirements, the PC and headset ports, data support, and cable length for your setup before buying.
What “best” means for your setup
There is no single best accessory for every Quest owner. Choose by the problem you need to solve: strap for fit, battery strap for runtime, prescription inserts for glasses wearers, interface for fit or active use, grips for hold and retention, case for storage, or cable for wired PC VR. Verify model compatibility on the specific product listing and confirm current price and availability; this guide does not validate live listings.
