For ordinary character levels in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, prioritize Main Story Quests. When story progress pauses or more content becomes available, add Side Quests and claim Daily Activity Merit rewards, including Season Activity Goals where they award EXP. Use Unstable Space runs mainly to improve gear and combat power—not as a proven character-EXP grind.
Follow the Main Story Quest first
Main Story Quests are the clearest leveling priority in Prydwen Institute’s beginner guide, updated January 18, 2026. That guide says character EXP comes almost exclusively from Main Story Quests, Side Quests, and Daily Activity Merit rewards; it recommends progressing the main story to at least level 10 before spending much time on broad exploration. Treat this as a guide recommendation, not a guarantee that EXP values or unlocks are identical across patches.
Following the story also helps establish your character and unlock systems. If a quest or activity is unavailable, your level or the server’s progression stage may be the reason; do the content currently open to you rather than assuming you have missed a permanent route.
Use side quests and daily rewards when available
Take available Side Quests
Side Quests are one of the activities Prydwen identifies as a direct source of character EXP. Pick them up when they are available, particularly if you have reached a point where the main story cannot yet continue.

Claim Daily Activity Merit rewards
Prydwen’s daily checklist, updated October 2, 2025, lists Season Activity Goals as an EXP source. Complete the goals that are unlocked for your character and server stage, then claim their rewards. Daily tasks can be level- or server-progression-specific, so an incomplete checklist does not necessarily mean you are overlooking a universally available activity.
Know what Unstable Space runs are for
The same daily checklist recommends two Unstable Space runs for Honor Coins and gear upgrade materials. Its description focuses on equipment and materials, not character EXP. Run them when you want to improve your gear; the available guidance does not establish them as a faster character-leveling method or provide EXP-per-hour figures to compare with quests.

Recover missed daily rewards where possible
If you miss a day, check the Reclaim Shop: Prydwen says most missed rewards can be obtained there, but does not say every reward is recoverable. The guide also says accepting commissions can store up to three days. These systems can soften a missed login, but they are not a reason to assume all daily progress is saved automatically.

Some story, quest, and dungeon content may unlock over time. Prydwen’s beginner guide describes an early-server level soft cap and advises players not to rush. That description may not apply identically to every server or later patch, so a temporary pause in leveling can reflect server progression rather than a need to grind an unverified activity.

Keep ordinary character level separate from gear progression and seasonal progression. For historical context, Prydwen’s Season 2 guide, updated January 15, 2026, described Dream Level progression after character level 60 and Dream XP from Dream Monsters in Drifting Cocoons. Those are Season 2 details, not confirmation of current Season 4 rules.
An official Steam announcement dated October 1, 2026 previewed Season 4, and an October 2 announcement scheduled maintenance for October 8. The preview discusses Vows and Oath Trials, but does not state character EXP rates or establish a fastest leveling route after the update. Activity names, unlocks, and rewards may change with seasonal updates, so rely on what is currently available in-game rather than carrying older seasonal mechanics forward.
