Visages and Mask Keeper are a single, uninterrupted Act 2 encounter: defeat Visages first, then face Mask Keeper without a recovery break. Before entering, clear the three optional Vale bosses—Jovial Moissonneuse, Seething Boucheclier, and Sorrowful Chapelier—to remove buffs Mask Keeper would otherwise gain. Fire and Dark are effective against both phases; Ice is resisted.
Prepare before entering the fight
Do the Vale side paths first. Each of these optional bosses removes an associated buff from Mask Keeper:

Build your party around Fire and Dark damage if you can; both phases are weak to those elements and resist Ice, according to the Expedition 33 Wiki’s Visages guide, the Mask Keeper guide, and Gameranx’s combined guide.
Phase one: target Visages’ mask eyes
Visages sends five masks out from the mirror. Aim at the eye on each floating mask rather than spending attacks on the large stone body: the eyes are the weak points and the phase’s main objective. The Visages guide describes this target priority.

Protect the party’s health as you work through the masks. Once Visages falls, it uses an ultimate attack before Mask Keeper begins, and there is no healing window between phases. If your party is already in danger, avoid rushing to destroy the final mask. Gamepressure specifically cautions that destroying every mask can end the phase with the party at one health point and recommends leaving the Anxiety Mask until last because its attack is easier to avoid; treat that as a warning from that guide, not a guaranteed outcome in every fight.

Mask Keeper’s longer multi-hit strings make this phase a test of timing. Watch the rhythm of each attack and be ready to parry through the entire sequence rather than treating the opening hit as the whole move. The Mask Keeper guide highlights these extended combos.

Keep using Fire and Dark where your party allows, and avoid relying on Ice damage. Because Mask Keeper follows Visages immediately, surviving the transition with enough health to handle those longer strings is part of the fight—not a separate preparation step.
